We were overwhelmed by the beauty of Astala Lodge along with the location. We stayed four nights and we're lucky to be given one of four front rooms overlooking Bangor Marina (room 11). The view was simply magical both day and night. The room was very comfortable, warm and spotless. Bathroom also spotless with a good sized bath/shower and plenty of hot water. Astala Guest House is clearly recently renovated. Everything is new. And everything is spotlessly clean. The view of the waterfront was quite nice (I saw a wonderful sunrise). Breakfast was quite good. The WiFi worked well. The staff was friendly and accommodated our late arrival without fuss (naturally we had the presence of mind to call and inform them we were arriving late). Parked right in front.
Had a very enjoyable stay at the Astala.Rochelle was the perfect hostess,friendly and attentive. Our room ( no. 4 ) was large, clean and tidy with amazing views over the marina and Belfast Lough.The guest house location is superb - close enough to walk into town and also ideal for taking a stroll along the coastal path.Overall excellent value for money and would definately return.
The guest house was spotless and the manageress who greeted us was very friendly, welcoming and very professional. The building has recently been refurbished and very tastefully I might add. The breakfast in the morning was served promptly and the quality of the food was excellent. Close proximity to the harbour and the town is a big bonus. We would definitely stay here again.
We got to Astala Lodge after dark so imagine our suprise in the morning when we opened our curtains and there was the marina. A beautiful view of the harbor, the sunrise and a park complete with a fountain, all right out the window of our room. This Lodge is in a very nice renovated old home with easy walks to the marina, parks and the city.
Very nice guesthouse with easy access to the centre of Bangor. Over half the rooms have a great view over the harbour.
Nice linen, big tv, good sized bathroom & Free wifi.
Nice cooked breakfast and cereals etc.
Parking was on the street outside, but this was easy and plenty of free spaces.
Overall a good place to stay.
The Astala Lodge is in reality just as the photos portray - fresh, clean and inviting. The manageress is very friendly and helpful, the bedrooms are well appointed - we were in Room 5 which has a beautiful view of the esplanade and sea. The house is just a short walk to the main street and all local amenities.
The hotel is really handy to the town and marina. We usually stay in the hotels on the seafront but for a couple of minutes extra walk this is a really excellent B&B. Definately excellent value for money. The rooms are modern and spotless and the breakfast and service very good will certainly stay again.
the introduction by the owner Rachael was informative and clear.the accomadation was immaculate and and staff were friendly and helpful.having a cooked breakfast made for you in the morn was exceptional.All freshly cooked and a good range to choose from.Would deffinately go back for a further visit.
Clean and tidy B & B. Was made very welcome upon arrival by Rochelle who explained everything to us. Would definately recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in Bangor and I will return soon. Breakfast was excellent and room was fantastic. Overall great value for money.
The hotel was newly refurbished to a good standard. Rochelle (manager) was doing a Stirling job. It was also in a great location overlooking the Marina.The location offers a great place to stay with in easy commuting distance of many of Northern Islands great attractions.

From the moment we arrived we were made very welcome even by the late hour. This continued throughout our stay, even when it was time to leave. A wonderful experience,wonderful staff,great food and a fantastic location. We will be back.

The staff were very friendly and went out of there way to make my first stay in Ireland memorable.The guest house was very clean and thee decor was lovely. The breakfast was fresh and enjoyable with a good selection of choice.
The owner was very nice and accommodating. The wi-fi access was great. We had two rooms. Both were quite comfortable except that one was a bit too warm. The room facing the harbour was fantastic. The breakfast was excellent.
This B&B punches above its weight as far as decor, and other factors e.g. a lift, clean towels every day, modern furniture and fittings. Our room (10) was large and comfortable with an excellent view over the marina.

Rachelle was a wonderful hostess. We had to leave very early in the

Guest house was very clean, staff were extremely friendly. Its close to local shops, bars and restaurant (5 min walk). They had there own private bar which Rochelle would open for a reasonable time.
It was on the sea coast, very clean, big room, beautiful view, very quiet and excellent breakfast. Parking was available right in front and a free parking lot 1/2 block away. Great hostess.

If we had to comment on anything negative the only thing was there was no hairdryer in room, but I'm sure if we asked one would have been made available.
The lodge is down a one way road and pretty difficult to locate at first.
I think our experience of Bangor was seriously affected by the weather and would look to return in the summer when I believe it will enhance the experience.

Room was warm (then we did stay during an unusual heat wave) Only one small window would open. Not especially toddler friendly (no high chair at breakfast) but very friendly staff gave us some lovely cushions so the 2 year old could reach her food.

The bed was creaky and needed replacing.
Some of the fitting were not quite right e.g bathroom door didn't close properly. But nothing of importance.
Nothing major apart from the heat.... turn radiators off in our room when we went in and it was still extremely warm... they did turn the heating down when asked.
