Gleneagles offers an excellent range of outdoor activities from horseback riding to falconry, shooting and off-road driving, not to mention the golf courses. The instructors are all very friendly and professional. For me the activities are definitely the main attraction of the hotel. The food at Gleneagles is also justly famous, in particular the range of game and local catches offered at the formal Stratheran restaurant.

New pool area & outdoor jacuzzi wonderful, will be even better when other pool & stream room ready. The experience is second to none, I can't fault the hotel at all, the staff, the facilities are out of this world. We were given a card and a bottle of champagne as it was our wedding anniversary which we were over the moon with and can't thank you enough. Magnificent surroundings. Our room was probably the most opulent that we have ever stayed in.We spent our wedding night at Gleneagles and we were literally treated like royalty. We have stayed in 5* hotels the world over but this was in a class of its own. The staff, the woman on front desk greeted us very warmly, the staff in the restaurant for breakfast were excellent. The mini bus driver who took us to dinner at night time. The staff were excellant, it was a lovely setting, very peaceful, and a good central location. Very luxury type well reputed hotel-resort in Scotland. Looked like staying at king's palace. Staff were all excellent. Suite very spacious and bed very large and comfortable. Grounds Facilities exceptional Bathroom Excellent breakfast and breakfast room. The facilities, the linen on the beds, the choice of food and activities. Staff were friendly and helpful. Facilities were great. Staff is great, restaurants are very good too. Excellent meal, as always, at Andrew Fairlies. The food was excellent, steak to die for!. Everything brilliant couldn't fault it. All off it plus andrew farlys rest. just excellent. The last time I was at Gleneagles was over ten years ago and the hotel has expanded a lot since. It is a little too big to my liking but even so one can't fault the service, and I have to say the hotel has maintained the high standard they are known for. It is just not exclusive as it once was, and more suitable for family than a romantic getaway. What's not to like about a very luxurious hotel, except the price. The bedroom was really lovely but not worth the price tag compared with other hotels. However the hotel does have some pretty impressive facilities. Nothing at all. Having to leave. The room was slightly dated & the timber furniture was passed it's best. The bed was far to big & were used to a king size bed at home. The room was boiling hot when we arrived. So we turned the rads off & opened 2 windows, as we do at home in our bedroom. I don't know why they heat rooms like this, it so uncomfortable & must cost them a fortune. They should be more environmentally friendly & save energy. The food was not up to 5starr rating, breakfast was cold, and all in all there could have been quite a few improvements in the food. Some of the drinks were a bit expensive - £15 for a Bellini !!. Room too hot in november no air conditioning think our room was over boiler or something Lighter paintwork would be good in halway. Some of the service was poor at times. We did not get the room with a view that we had booked. The wifi service was extremely poor throughout the hotel. That our room wasn't ready at nearly 3 pm although check in time was 2pm and because the bar was busy we were asked to wander around and then come back in 15mins (then after 3 and it still wasn't ready). Buffet breakfast. As we arrived, all major facilities such as spa, fishing, off-road driving were fully booked for entire weekend. There can be noisy in corridors and insulation could have been much better. Queue to check in then room not ready 1 hour after check in time ...... and no immediate resolution of the issue. Queue again to check out. Not what 's expected of a 5 star hotel. Absolutely nothing!.
