Built from Lakeland stone and surrounded by beautiful countryside in the Lake District National Park, this B&B is just a 10-minute walk from the shores of Lake Windermere. Ambleside is only 5 minutes away on foot.
Rooms at Lyndale Guest House are elegant and traditionally furnished. Each has a TV, a wardrobe for storage space, and an en suite or private bathroom with free toiletries and a hairdryer.
Lyndale has free Wi-Fi in some rooms, and free public parking is available nearby. A full English breakfast is provided each morning, and special dietary requirements can be catered for.
Walkers and cyclists will find numerous scenic routes for exploring the Lake District just outside the building. Overnight storage is available for bicycles. The Beatrix Potter Gallery is only 5 miles away.

Alison was very welcoming and helpful. Just having had a foot operation
she was keen to provide any help needed. The room was quiet and the bed
large and comfortable. The en-suite had everything needed, with a good
shower & hot water. The whole place was clean and comfortable. The
breakfast was substantial and not greasy. The permit for nearby free
parking is an added bonus.
A very warm, clean and well equipped room. We brought our 'well-behaved' spaniel who loved the guesthouse and our host.
The cooked breakfast was excellant.
We were warmly welcomed, well fed and very well look after during our stay. We loved it!

Alison was really friendly and very helpful.She suggested a great restaurant for dinner and ideas for walks. Its really great to get helpful tips when you have limited time. Lyndale is a little on the edge of town which I liked. The room was very cosy and comfortable.
Easy in/out access to room; car permit allowing all-day use of many local council district parking sites.

A quality, small guest house: I'll be returning for certain!.
I don't usually like B&B's but this one was superb. From
the moment we arrived until we left we were looked after. Breakfast was
lovely and the room was very comfortable. Also helped that there was
car parking.
Fantastic B&B. Alison is a great host. Perfect location. Parking is very easy at a very near public car park. Short stroll to Wateredge Inn for a great dinner by the lake. Excellent stay.

There wasn't a single thing about the guesthouse which we didn't like.
Its unfortunate about the amount of ugly development that has taken place in Ambleside.The garden centre across the road from Lyndale is one example. The ultimate in crassness and not in keeping with such a beautiful place. I wasn't thrilled with the hot water system for the shower. Not the best shower I have ever had.
Breakfast was from 8 until 8.45 which was a little early - would have
liked it a little later.

Traffic noise as I had a room at the front on the main road.
My room was at the top of three flights of stairs, but it is the lakes
and hill climbing may well be what you might go there for! Not a
problem really.
Only sorry that I wasn't staying longer.
Had to ask for instructions to get shower temperature right, but all was fine after that.
Seperate bathroom along hall down stairs.
slightly dodgy shower, at times water kept alternating very hot/cold. probably due to other water usage, but a bit of a pain when in there with no escape !.
