The staff was really friendly and helpful. As I was coming from the States, I had a 13 hr difference--I went straight to my room and slept and dozed the whole day--with a bit of internet in-between.
When I woke up in the evening, it was only 10 minutes til the restaurant closed--and the young woman was VERY accomodating!
In the morning, I was just receiving my breakfast when my ride to the Elephant Nature Park arrived--and the server immediately offered to put my food in a take-away.

Lovely lanna-style guesthouse on the River Ping. I stayed during the Yi Peng/Loy Krathong festival in November 2013 was it was a fabulous site to watch the celebrations on the bridge and the launching of Loy Krathongs upstream beneath the bridge. I have some fabulous pics taken from the guesthouse's little pier of the floating candle-lit loy krathongs floating toward me, with the bridge behind them and the loi khoms floating into the sky above it. The bed was probably the softest I'd had in Tha.
Great location by the river and very close to the night market. The restaurant at Galare was fantastic, really great food at very reasonable prices and lovely staff. There are lovely verandas to relax on outside the rooms and the garden gives this place a great feel. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.
Although every hotel room in Chiang Mai was booked out for the Loy Krathong festival, my letsbookhotel.com reservation, made two months earlier, was honoured without fuss and my request for a double bed met. Quiet location beside Ping River was ideal for watching Loy Krathong festivities. Reception and restaurant staff friendly and helpful.
The location was great. 10 minutes walking distance from the city. Situated in a quiet alley with lots of green. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They help you book different day trips&activities. They offer airport shuttle service for a reasonable price. Had a great time here and I would sleep here again.
Very friendly and helpful personnel. Quiet place with view to the river and a lovely garden. Close to night bazar, Sunday market and all the temples in Chiang Mai. A place people come back to was my experience. And I will defiantly come back next year again. I can only give this place my best recommendations.
Superb Service from all the staff, very attentive to our needs. Location was only a short walk from most major sights but quiet enough to get away from it all. In one room, we struggled to get the wi-fi, but that was all.If we had needed it, they would have moved us.
I will be going back there.
The location is nice, close enough to get a tuk tuk into town, nice little jetty on the river, room size is nice and big, bed had a soft topper so was very comfortable, and the design of the building was beautiful with nice balconys.
We enjoyed our stay very much, a nice view eating by the river also the boat river cruise was so lovely and relaxing.
Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Thank-you for having our family.
Staff was very friendly and anxious to help - we used the drivers there for wonderful tours - the drivers were wonderful, very knowledgeable and made our tours an exciting adventure.
Fairly basic but clean and comfortable. Liked the flexibility of paying for food and eg laundry as we went along - food choice was good and very reasonably priced.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Location near the night market a plus.
Being at end of lane by water made for relaxing and quieter location.
It is located nicely on the riverbank. Quitely outside the city, but still not too far out. Particularly if you rent a bike it's location is perfect.
The location is great, near the .
night buzzer
The rooms are very clean, the stuff are great and whiling to help in any issue.
Pretty garden. Lots of seating.
Great staff. Great little restaurant overlooking the river.
High level of maintenance.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was good for the night market and the old city. Good value for money.
The staff are always welcoming and always on hand to help in any way they can.The place is very nice and quiet.
location by the river was surprisingly quiet with no boats passing by that I noticed throughout my whole stay,.
Brilliant all round. Anyone who whinges should go 5 star to the Gold Coast. This is Thailand!.
The staff were all very friendly, courteous, efficient. The rooms are comfortable.
Great location and as always incredibly friendly and helpful staff.
Very helpful staff & a relaxed environment.
Friendliness of staff and helpfullness.
The mattress was simply heavenly!.
Great central location.
Hotel has a nice yard, it is close to Loi Kroh Road (place for bars and nightlife) and Night Market. Room was clean (except for the window). Breakfast was tasty and not expensive.
friendly
Location.
Not much.Location okay.
The bed was hard and had a slept-in 'valley' or dip in it.
In the beginning of the evening, it seemed quite quiet-- and later, one could hear dogs barking rather loudly.
Signposting/location markers were obscure and the guesthouse would have been hard to find if I'd been walking and not in a taxi. However every taxi driver I ever asked/took knew where and what "Galare Guesthouse" was (unlike other cities/hotels in Thailand).
Nothing!.
One disadvantage of location is long trek to historic old city. Caught two nights running by sudden downpours that flooded streets. No transport available and shoes and clothes ruined by having to wade through floodwaters on long journey back to hotel.
The wifi connection didn't always work that well and maybe mosquito nets could be provided if a guest asks for it. The fridge smelt a bit musty.
Staff weren't very attentive but left you alone which was good, food at the restaurant was very average.
barking dogs at night and early in the morning waking us up.
Nothing much -.
They provide a kettle and cups but not the actual making - you needed to buy this from the nearest 7/11 - not a major issue but I would have thought the makings for tea/coffee could have been provided .
Restaurant facilities are rather limited.
In the far rooms in the hotel you can not use Wi-Fi.
In the room the pressure of the water was low.
Wi fi in more distant roonms is not great but excellent in the restaurant.
no pool but I didnt expect one.
Sound of bags trudging down the steps in the early mornings.
Mosqitous are spread out in the room. It should be an insect fighter by
the hotel.
The room was very dark, no river view at all. Hotel is rather far from The Old City.
uncomfortable mattress.
Staff had a 'couldn't care less' attitude to problems such as poor WiFi reception, items on menu in room that are no longer available etc.Room was dark, and smelled damp even with a/c on and using fan. Shower didn't work properly.Very limited cable on tv.
