  Our host , Gorka was the best bartender/host one could find. A very fun crowd patronized his friendly establishment. We loved the community concert held in the town square outside our balcony, along w/ the convenient location of amenities. We were charmed. The boat trip to Hendaye was fun and the beach is the ultimate...just wish we had been aware... co mówią ludzie » of it so we could have brought our bathing suits. We walked the promenade, visited the castle, and lunched ocean side for a fun day in the sun w/ oth - Cute hotel on the main square in the old part of town. Very nice staff and fun location with views of the sea. Parking is a bit of a walk and locating the hotel might be difficult at night. Old town is quiet and picturesque. It's also a nice walk to main area of restaurants.

  A beautiful old building in a lovely square within a delightful old quarter of the town. Although Hondarribia itself is a bit upmarket touristy and busy (mainly Spanish tourists - very few Brits!) this part of the town is quiet and dignified. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff very welcoming. We travelled around most days (eg San Sebastiá... co mówią ludzie » n, Pamplona, Bilbao, Biarritz are all within an hour's drive) and ate at any of the several bars in the old quarter when we got back in the evening. T - Excellent experience at Hotel Palacete for a young couple in search of comfortable hotel accommodations for a week of hiking adventures and exploration. Front desk attendant was multilingual and was very helpful during our stay to connect us with local entertainment options and transportation. Hotel location was perfect for our needs - not in busy San Sebastian but a short bus ride away, with plenty available in Hondarribia and a convenient 5-minute ferry to Hendaye, Aquitaine, FR.
