This is a gem. It's a small family operation, with only four or five rooms, decorated with charm. (Why, for instance, is there a ladder in the bathroom when there's nothing high up to reach? You'll figure it out.) The owners are really pleasant and friendly - in a quiet way, not at all overbearing. And the food - ah, the food. Superb!. This is a delightful small family run hotel, feels more like being an honoured guest in a family home than staying in a hotel. The meals were exceptional, prepared by friendly hostess Carme. The location is quiet and peaceful, a good base for exploring the Costa Brava and Salvador Dali Museum in nearby Figures.

This little place is so thoughtfully presented - the rooms are very simple but bright. Downstairs in the restaurant we had the best paella for dinner and the best breakfast we'd had in Spain. The owner's care is evident in every element. The owners were most kind and helpful. Our meal in the restaurant was followed by an evening of Catalan folk songs until 1.30 in the morning. We will definitely go back!. Hostal is excellent. The owners are very very hospitable. The rooms are comfortable and very clean and the Catalan food is excellent. It is also very good value. The owners are the most gracious hosts you could ask for. We enjoyed are stay and would not hesitate to stay again. Very warm welcome. It's a small thing, but I was too stupid to figure out how to make the air conditioning work properly. I couldn't master the remote control. I'm sure the owners would have explained if I'd asked (which I didn't get round to doing), but maybe they could make a little card with instructions. A couple of slight drawbacks that didn't worry me at all - if travelling by train, it is a 10 to 15 min walk uphill to the station. The hotel restaurant is not open Sunday nights, but there are other options in the village. This is a very very quiet town...everything closed up as we went off season..which was nice...quiet...we drove to the next few villages for something to do. Missed hacving a blow drier. letsbookhotel.com says 300 meters from the beach >I misinterprete as a beach view property which it is not.. however a short walk only. Nothing to dislike. could not think of a single bad thing. lage.
