The house has white walls and exposed beams on the ceilings, featuring chestnut doors and rustic furniture. Each room is unique and individually decorated with original artwork, and most of them have a private patio and a fireplace. The beds have Egyptian cotton linens, while the luxury bathrooms come with a shower or a Victorian bath. Surrounded by olives and extensive gardens, the house serves a daily breakfast on the courtyard under a wooden pergola. The historic town of Ronda is 32 km away, while Marbella is 1 hour and a half by car.

The warm welcome by Hans and Miranda and their dog Sam was the start of an unforgettable weeks stay in Cortijo el Guarda. The accommodation is beautifully restored and elegantly decorated and still has modern amenities (good wifi, hot showers, etc). We had a very comfortable and spacious room with a worldclass bed and there was more than enough room for the crib. Even though the weather was a bit cold and wet for March, we had a wonderful time because of the warm and cosy municipal rooms, long .

The interior decoration of the Cortijo El Guarda is just fantastic, every detail is perfect. Miranda and Hans are wonderful hosts. You really feel like you are staying in their home, not just their hotel. We would not hesitate to recommend this casa rural to anyone searching for a special place to stay. Beautiful old guardhouse in the country. Central to seeing many of Southern Spain's grand city. Completely remodeled with wonderful art. Hosts, Hans and Miranda were divine. We stayed only 2 days and didn't want to leave. Terrific breakfast and dinner prepared by the hosts. We enjoyed everything about the place and hope to return in the future. When Apollo 11 went to the moon in 1969, it landed in a region called "Sea of Tranquility". Now we know that we don't have to go so far away to find a real quiet region. Just go to Cortijo El Guarda. The owners built an island of humanity. The location is perfect to visit the highlights of Andalucia!. Very very good. The Dutch owners Hans and Miranda really do their best to make your stay as good as possible. Lots of personal attention. The place is designed and renovated with a great eye for detail and style. It's only a couple of years old now. The Villa setting is idyllic-Hans & Miranda are v amiable hosts-the evening meals are 'a must'-the novelty of eating a 4 course delicious meal, outside, under the stars, is not to be missed. We will never forget the hospitality from Miranda and Hans! We felt at home from the very first minute. The breakfast was excellent and relaxing. We will return!. This was a delightful place with very warm and friendly hosts, beautifully designed rooms and a great location. Amazing place, great decoration, interesting people and relaxing surroundings.
