Manaar House is definitely one of the best places to stay in Durban/Umhlanga. We stayed there for three nights in the self Catering Apartment. The a/c duplex unit was extremely spacious, spotlessly clean, nicely furnished and well maintained. As a couple with young kids, it was an absolute dream staying at Manaar House as it was so kid friendly that our kids did not want to go out because of the toys provided in our section of the house! They had so much fun & were so comfortable and as parents, that mattered most to us. The views from the kids rooms were phenomenal & they absolutely loved it!

I was impressed with Tosca's attentiveness - she asked where I would like to go and brought out a map to help me. I felt very well looked after. Then in the morning I had breakfast and the manager (forgot his name) was talkative and friendly and I enjoyed the breakfast. -

For an overnight this was a good choice; our arrival was late afternoon into Durban and we were nervous about driving in the dark. It quickly falls dark around 18.00, apparently year round.

Calla and Jonelle are the most hospitable guests in the industry. Guests feel instantly at home and part of the establishment. The Villa is close to Umhlanga village with its shops and eateries, and for the more discerning gourmet, the five star Beverley Hills Hotel and the Oyster Box Hotel are remnants of Durban's colonial heritage.
