Very friendly staff with good English. Super clean, separate showers and toilets which helps avoid queues. Comfy bunks in dorm room - didn't squeak and move around like most dorm bunks! Excellent location, practically next door to the Hermitage. Very pleased to see there is a lift as it's on 6th floor! -

Excellent! The double room with Santa Clause on the fenster is very cosy. Plenty of space, good pillows, huge blanket, 4 spacy shower rooms - it all makes a good proof for the hostels' slogan Feels like home. Simplehostel made my staying quite memorable. And I did SLEEP WELL indeed :)

First of all, we really appreciate the hospitality of really friendly staffs!! They speak English and if tried to speak in Russian, they also tried to hear me and teach me some. The staff also explained about city so clearly that we can figure out where to go.

The location is superb - it's one block from the Church on Spilled Blood, and the Main Street Nevsky Prospekt, and 5 min walk to the Hermitage / Winter Palace.
The staff are welcoming, friendly and keep the hostel very clean.
We liked it so much (and found so much to do in St Petersburg) that we stayed a second week, and have already recommended it to other travellers. Thanks Natasha, Lena and Jane!

It was a very pleasant stay at friends hostel. The one down side was that we had to move rooms after the first night due to noise on the bottom floor. Location: in the very centre, but inside a quiet yard, not in the first line of houses. Standing at the gates you can see both your hotel and the Kazansky cathedral - one of the most beatiful in the city. You don't need to use transport at all, unless going to suburbs. Just 2 steps from Nevsky prosp. and 2 metro stations (Nevsky Prospect+Gostiny Dvor, lines ).
