What a gem! Such a special place, right on a small canal. This is a home from home and I'd recommend staying in Haarlem rather than Amsterdam with children as it's 15 minutes by train into Amsterdam and the same time to the beautiful beach. Haarlem is a mini Amsterdam without the awful crowds and the house was a perfect haven.

Excellent service - an ideal 2-star hotel for anyone wishing only bed and breakfast. The staff could not be more helpful, rooms and beds were very comfortable and an excellent continental breakfast is available for a small additional charge. After asking about where to have dinner with our children, we were given a map and thoughtful answers on where to visit and eat beyond our guide book. The Hotel Malts' breakfast is a real treat too so I recommend you enjoy it for at least one morning. And the beds are very comfortable!

Five Star Delight
We have just returned from the best stay we have ever had in Haarlem. When you make a hotel booking you read the reviews, the pros and cons, and then make your choice. We choose “Bed and Breakfast L'Anders”. This is a small 4 bedroom place with the rooms above the restaurant facing onto the beautiful square.

We had the most pleasant experience and never wanted to leave but had
already made arrangements to move on. The room was spacious and very
comfortable. We were given the room that overlooked the center and It
was discussed that if we were to return we would stay for an extended
time. You can take the public transportation to the surrounding cities
if you wish to. What a wonderful experience we had. We would like to
thank all the people there that welcomed us and treated us like family.
