This year I decided to spend my birthday in one of the most fascinating places on Earth , Medina of Fes and I choose the most beautiful place to stay from the entire world , Dar Melody. I wanted to be happy for my birthday :) As most of the people said before me Dar Melody is not only a place to stay in Fes, is a hidden gem between the hotels and riads all over the world. We stayed 3 nights in Dar Melody and we would never leave this house :) I should start by telling you that the hosts Bernard.
wszystkie opinie » A really amazing place, seems to be meticulously restored with great tile work. Comfortable beds and nice strong a/c units. It does feel a little like you are living in a palace. While the location wasn't the best for eating options there are some good places around and the place the owners recommend is very good, clean and reasonably priced, the lamb and prune tajine there was one of the best things I ate in Morocco. One of the benefits of the location is you really get the feel of how life is. A lovingly restored old ryad run by a delightful French couple. Little touches in the room, such as rose petals scattered each day, were typical of their attention to detail. Superb breakfast(again beautifully presented) was more than we could eat. The most outstanding thing, however was the way Laurence, Bernard and their whole staff took such good care of us, even taking our luggage to the nearby taxi rank when we left. Fez can be quite challenging and they did everything they could to make i. The hosts were fabulous. Breakfast was a big enough meal to get us through to dinner @ 9pm. We thought we had found the jewel in the crown - cant speak highly enough about it. Bernard was waiting up to come and meet us in the parking area @ 2:30am because our plane was delayed. There was a nice bottle of chilled water & some chocolates waiting for us. Little things that make a big difference. A perfect place to stay in Fez. Incredible restoration of 300+ year old home. Wonderful central patio with original tile and woodwork. Our bedroom had original exquisitely painted cedar ceilings, was spacious and comfortable. Laurence and Bernard, our hosts, were so helpful and engaging. Most amazing breakfasts!. Dar Melody is a gorgeous riad in Fez. The place has gorgeous rooms and the owners Laurance and Bernard are extremely helpful and accommodating. Breakfast is lovely, a greAt selection and choice. We really enjoyed our stay right in the middle of the medina. Bernard and Laurence were the perfect hosts in their beautiful building. The room was magnificent and very comfortable, the breakfasts excellent. What more could you ask for?. the room was amazingly decorated. loved the bright colored furniture. breakfast was very good as was the owners.. would recommend this place to friends. The location is definitely interesting, and extremely authentic, but that also means dining options in the neighbourhood are somewhat limited. The location is in a very quiet part of town with no restaurants nearby. If you arrive late in the day it can be a bit intimidating in spite of Lauranc's careful instructions, to find a place to eat. There were no negatives about staying here. Nothing - all was great. Location was a little far from main sights in the old town, or to the new city. Getting a cab from the nearest main road is difficult. nothing.
