- Staff friendly and very flexible. I messed up my booking, but they sorted it out promptly and efficiently - Location overlooking Taiping Lake and gardens, walking distance to Night Zoo and short drive to Bukit Larut Landrover station - Expensive by local Malaysian standards but great value for money, especially if travelling on the strong Australian dollar; includes rooftop pool and on site parking.

I don't need to find a laundry shop or go out to find something for lunch or dinner because you really can do it in your apartment or buy something from the Cold Storage at the Lower Ground Floor. The pool quite big enougj and my children really love it. I'm going to stay right here again on my next visit to Penang. Beautiful view of the Lake Gardens from our 4th floor picture window. Nice rooftop area with clean pool and Skybar with dining in the evenings. Menu and hotel food very good. Excellent buffet breakfast. Walking distance to old town, Taiping Zoo & Night Safari. Short taxi ride to Maxwell Hill or to modern shopping mall. Great location.It's very convenient and walking distance to eating place,Lake and Zoo.Good breakfast.Room is clean and comfort. Will come back again.Hopefully the premium lake view room is available for my next trip. 1. I loved the rooms facing the lake gardens. The great view of the lake and the surrounding mountain range is something unattainable in many hotels around Taiping. 2. Excellent dinner at affordable prices. Excellent location with nice greenery lake view. Very close to zoo taiping and famous food court(taman tasik) and town. We booked premier lake view room.The room is spacious ,Cozy and comfortable . The rooms with lake view provide perfect view of Taiping Lake. Convenient to go for a morning walk at Taiping Lake Garden. Taiping Lake Garden is just opposite the hotel. Nothing really - might well be best value for money in Taiping. Traffic was pretty heavy on the road between the front of the hotel and the Lake Gardens especially at the weekend with noisy motorbikes and cars with killer exhausts roaring past till all hours. Motorbikes supposedly banned in the Lake Gardens but many using the pedestrian paths with impunity. Fishing is also banned but many locals go fishing in the park on their motorbikes....pity. Can't blame the Hotel, but the local authorities need to act :-). None. I wish the breakfast buffet could include more Western fare. None. We stay for two nights, but they didn't give us another new amenties and mineral water on the 2nd day. The carpark is quite small and not spacious enough and is quite difficult when parking the car. The staff given me a twin room instead of double room saying that the double rooms are full. I'm unhappy with it. Only complaint is that there is no frig in room and I need it for my medication. The breakfast was finished by 8.30am and it was slow to be replenished. The room had a cigarette smell that was probably left by the previous occupants. The private parking of the hotel is not sufficient. Very limited car park. Hotel has 5 managers and 5 car parks have to reserve for them, what kind of management is this?. Not much. As mentioned by others, lack of parking but NOT a major problem as there were plenty spaces outside albeit no security. There is no fridge in the room. we have problem to park our car.. Had requested for double bed prior check-in. Request was ignored and end up with single beds for all 3 rooms. This is Family with small children travel. No smile from receptionist. Breakfast should started from 630 am instead 7 am. Insufficient car park for guest. I hope they improve on employee training and the security on the bedroom. The opening of the window inside the room is not really fit the safety requirement. The staff seem not very well train for a 4-star hotel. Room rate is rather expensive for Taiping. Ongoing renovation which is noisy and disturbing. Poor sound proof where you could hear people walking / talking outside room corridor. Emmm....can't think of one at the moment. no HALAL cert. and one way road. room not soundproof. Found cockcroach in the room and dinning room.
