  Ourgrown family of 5 stayed overnight this week while visiting the snow monkeys. The hotel and staff more than met our expectations. The hotel was smaller than expected, but that was a plus.   We stayed two nights at the Uotoshi Ryoken. Fantastic service. The owner and his sister were warm, welcoming and friendly. The owner spoke great English which made things a lot easier given we had very little Japanese at our disposal. The Ryoken is an easy five minute walk from the Yudanaka Rail Station and is easy to find. I'd thoroughly recommend staying at - The friendliness of the owner and his sister put us at ease after a long flight and train ride. The archery demonstration was very interesting, and the recommendation for the sumo wrestler restaurant was great. Plus, it was really nice to get a ride of the base of the mountain where the monkey park is located.

  The hotel manager Yuki made our stay a very memorable one. She and her staff introduced us to the pleasures of a Ryokan Onsen.
