Staying in Ryokan Murayama was a great experience as we wanted to stay in a more traditional accommodation in a rural setting. The train trip to Takayama was a highlight as it was so picturesque. Our breakfast was beautifully arranged and the service at Murayama Ryokun was exceptional. The rooms are well appointed, very clean and very comfortable. I would love to stay again in winter as I would enjoy sitting by the fire. The managers provide a great service of picking up guests from the train s.
wszystkie opinie » We really loved staying at Ryokan Murayama. The train station pick up and daily shuttle runs were a valuable and welcome service. The gentleman innkeeper was very welcoming, helpful with the luggage, friendly, and spoke English very well. It felt like a family-run business, and the lady innkeeper was very sweet as well, serving us delicious kaiseki-type meals for dinner. Lots of food and delicious too! Very clean and comfortable (spacious) room. Location was out of main area of town, but pleasa. We had stayed here for 2 nights in a family room. It was clean and spacious. Free parking at the hotel was nice. Our GPS had trouble finding the exact location. The recommended Japanese restaurants in town by the hotel were delicious and of good value. Owner helped us with the phone numbers for our GPS for Shirokawago and Kamikochi National Park. Onsen was clean but small. Private onsen free of charge was nice. This is not a luxury Ryokan, but it was more than sufficient for our family get away. A very good traditional ryokan with a cozy feeling. Great clean bath, clean public toilet, and rooms with heating. About 15 minutes walk from Takayama JR station and 5 minute walk from Hida folk village. The owner speaks very good English and is extremely helpful, so check in and check out were very easy and pleasant. Overall - great traditional ryokan experience for an extremely reasonable price. We stay in the Japanese style room, the room is big and clean. The share tiolet & bathroom are very clean and modern and enough for everyone. Hotel have private onsen which is very relaxing (of course, very clean). Staff is very helpful, drive us from & to train station. If the shuttle bus is not available, taxi from train station to hotel cost around 1000 YEN. I would only stay here if you are here for a few days. I was there one day and walked back and forth to the town 20-30 minutes each way. They did pick me up from the train station. They put me in a nice room with a squat toilet, but its was near the flue for the hot tub heater and it smelled like benzine. They were nice, but I dont really recommend the place. Very clean Ryokan, very friendly staff, very tasty Japanese style breakfasts, location is close to Hida No Sato (folk village), discount coupons for all museums in Takayama, transfer to Takayama JR and bus stations in the morning. If I will visit Takayama I will stay at this Ryokan. We had a large room. Lots of space. Our private bathroom and toilet were separate, The air conditioning worked well. Cleaners were very discreet and fast. There were regular buses to take us into central Takayama. The hotel manager was very accommodating. The food, especially breakfast, was very good. A nice location, very close to the Hida Folk Village. Very clean and spacy room. The staff was very king and helpful in any situation. It is possible to have free transportation to and from railway station, but some restrictions in the timing. For such a price (3950 Yen) this was an excellent deal, The premises are nice. Our room is comfortable size for two persons. The Roykan's dinner is very tasty, 2500 yen per person. The hotel is 1.8km away from Takayama station, not 1.3km as shown on letsbookhotel.com. the distance is walkable, but a part of road is uphill and really really dark at night. we stay there three nights, first nights stay at hotel. the rest two nights we had di. We ordered a vegetarian option one night that was very poor, but that was our only bump over a six night stay,. Too far from the railway station to go by foot with the luggage. If you are not used for the accommodation in Japanese style, it is a bit difficult to get familiar with this. A bit of a walk to downtown (maybe 15 minutes) but that was actually what made it a better place to be. The ryokan is on the edge of town, however pickup from the train station was provided as well as a free shuttle when we departed. The hotel is located at outskirts of the city. Despite this location has some advantages (quite, close to the nature) the walk to the city center (about 25 minutes) is a little boring. Note that hotel has a free shuttle bus running to the city center in the morning. Furnitures is a bit too old. It was far from Takayama city center. No other place to dinner in the area. the noise of the old gas heaters or air conditioners was a bit loud. Away from the town centre which is at the other side of the railway station. Only found out about in house dining from other guests. Didnt bother us but no kitchen facilities at all, only a Mina bar fridge. In our dbl room. To far from the city. hard futon & pillows long walk or bus to town. our room is located in level2, the western style toilet is located in level 1. the room has a japense style toilet, but my friend is not used to japanese style, she has to go downstairs most of time. we found a cockroach in our room. both of us afraid of cockroach, we asked the mr. Murayama came to catch the cockroach. Besides, the cleanliness of Ryokan is good. Bit far away from town if you wanted to eat elsewhere at night, however a pleasant walk - uphill coming home. location a bit far from walking street in town. Owner can you pick up at the station, but when we call him, he didnt come. To come back station he did it. Far from the city center the bus driver is the only person from staff who speak English. Distance from city. Outside of town. Location is a bit far from most POIs. Heating. Service: we need to climb 25 steps to get to the lift. I am with my wife and her mother who is 80 years old. We have 3 large luggage that only I can handle. The staff (a strong 40+ man) watched me to take them up one by one without trying to offer any help. BTW, it's expensive as the price didn't include dinner and breakfast like most other hot spring hotels do. We stayed at this hotel overnight and got an impression that we would never ever stay there. 1. Staff was not happy being disturbed by our check in at 6pm 2. Toilets are really stinky 3. Sleeping futons are very thin so yu feel like sleeping on the floor 4. Not so easy to find hotel as all signs are in Japanese only (we has stayed in other 10 hotels in Japan during this trip and all other even remote in mountais were easy to find).
