Just a 5-minute drive from Matsumoto Castle, Ryokan Seifuso offers a Japanese cultural experience with traditional accommodation, hot public baths and tea ceremony and kimono classes. Located in the Shinshu area of Nagano just 35 km from the natural beauty of Kamikochi, the hotel is about a 10-minute drive from the Matsumoto Ukiyo-e (Japanese woodblock print) Museum. JR Matsumoto Train Station is a 15-minute drive away, and the Ryokan offers a free shuttle bus between 10:00 and 20:00. The air-conditioned rooms include a refrigerator, flat-screen satellite TV and free in-room Wi-Fi. Each has a tatami (woven straw) floor and Japanese-style futon bedding. All guests use shared bathing facilities and most use shared toilets. Seifuso Ryokan is entirely non-smoking. A DVD player and a computer with free internet access are provided in the common area. Fax/photocopying services are available and free parking is offered. Ryokan Seifuso serves fresh, seasonal Japanese cuisine for breakfast. A Western-style breakfast is available on request. Vegetarian diets can also be accommodated.

I lOVED this guest house, the owners and their daughter were so friendly and warn I ended up extending my stay for another night just because they made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. There was fully equiped kitchens just outside the rooms which was a pleasant surprise. While it is a little far from town to walk, there is free bikes which only take 5mins to ride to the centre. Alternatively there was a couple of restaurants and a great supermarket within 3-5mins walk from the ryokan. The.

The owners are friendly and accommodating, and it really helped to have the maps listing favorite places to eat and things to do. The location is good if you want to see the castle, and take in an onsen at Asama. The Inn was very clean, and our room was very comfortable. Our 8 year old loved sleeping on the futon in our traditional room, and the ofuro was a great cultural experience. Don't miss the delicious breakfast for a true taste of Japan. This is a very cozy place to stay in Matsumoto. We were fetched promptly from train station. Our ryokan room was big enough for the five of us. The beds were comfortable. We had access to kitchen with complete facilities. Breakfast was very good and plenty. Free use of bikes was great! Place was near big grocery and surrounded by small restaurants with authentic japanese cuisine! We had a wonderful time !. Lovely ryokan, run by a very friendly couple who speak English. We chose the Western style breakfast which was very good. Free coffee available for guests. Bikes are free to hire and they will pick you up and return you to the station, so the fact it is a little out of town does not really matter. We walked to the castle in about 30 mins. There are restaurants within walking distance of the ryokan. The Staff were fantastic. Atsuko really looked after our family going above and beyond with excellent tips and even lifts to various hard to get to places, just fantastic service. They also arranged for us to have a private bath for the whole family rather than having to split the Onsen experience into Male and Female baths which just made things a lot easier with small children. This is a terrific place to stay for English-speaking folks who want to experience a Japanese inn. Shared bath area, shared bathroom, but no problem. Great Breakfast. Anyway, we rent the car and have no problem to get to the ryokan but it's not located very near the train station, may not easy for someone else who ride on the train. Simply great! The hotel had charming family staff who were incredibly helpful. The pick-up and drop-off services were invaluable, especially because of the location. The location is out of the main mix, but Matsumoto is not so very kicking a town, so it really does not make a huge difference, whatever other correspondents may say. The wifi in the rooms is very weak but its manageable. If it fails there is a high speed computer that works fantastically. Shared bathroom was not so clean. It was a little far from the main city, but well compensated for by excellent pickup service. Nothing that I think of at the moment. Nothing in particular!. We stayed in the annex and found the areas outside of the bedrooms quite cold. Nothing really, everything exceeded my Expectations!.
