  The Shinagawa Prince Hotel is actually a complex of 4 different buildings and each one has different amenities, E.G., our hotel didn't have an ice machine anywhere in the building but our friends who were staying in another building did have one. They stored our bags and our friends bags (10 of them) without a fee and without batting an eye. - The hotel has many wings and rooms with different profiles. The cheaper ones are standard Japanese business hotels, i.e. very small, cheap, functional. The more expensive ones give more space and luxury. Both offer good (if not extraordinary) value for money IMHO. The unique selling point of this hotel is that it's a 3min walk from Shinagawa station from which you can get Shinkansen to Kyoto/Osaka, and Yamanote for pretty much anywhere.

  The hotel was very good. The room was small, but bigger than what I usually get in London or Paris. Everything was in order and very clean. The staff is very attentive to the guests and more than eager to help. Unfortunately they do not speak very good English if at all, but this is typical in all of Japan.   Excellent staff, very courteuos, and willing to accommodate any needs whatsoever with a smile. No other hotel I have been to anywhere in the world has arranged a staff member to help me do some souvenir shopping in the market. They even went to that extent !! I had e-mailed her several times before our booking and she promptly e-mailed me back. When I entered on the day of booking, she was very helpful and diligently helped me with our reservation.She is an asset to the Rose Hotel.
