It is an ideal place for us to stay as our flight schedule always necessitates that we stay overnight and take a very early flight out. The convenience of the bus service, the nearness, and price fit the ticket for us. It is always clean, staff are friendly and helpful. -

The Shinagawa Prince Hotel is actually a complex of 4 different
buildings and each one has different amenities, E.G., our hotel
didn't have an ice machine anywhere in the building but our friends
who were staying in another building did have one. They also had free
wi-fi and we had free ethernet (which doesn't do you much good with
an iPhone or iP

The hotel has many wings and rooms with different profiles. The cheaper ones are standard Japanese business hotels, i.e. very small, cheap, functional. The more expensive ones give more space and luxury. Both offer good (if not extraordinary) value for money IMHO.
The unique selling point of this hotel is that it's a 3min walk from Shinagawa station from which you can get Shinkansen to Kyoto/Osaka, and Yamanote for pretty much anywhere.

The hotel is well located, niear Shin- Yokohama station (shinkansen, jr
lines and subway). However remember that Shin-yokohama is not the same
as Yokohama and you need to take a train to get to the centre of the
town The location is very convenient if you have a jr Pass and you plan
to take shinkansen in order to go to places like Kyoto, Osaka or

Very comfortable, good service, efficient service, good location for travel into city or further afield as near Shinkansen line. Not too fancy but good basics.
