Nice, familial atmosphere. Hotel is clearly a local hit, a social place without being too chaotic. Restaurant good and pleasant, general location excellent, in the center of the Alban Hills and close to most interesting places. -

View was fantastic, restaurant was very good, town was a short walk and had several restaurants, shops and, of course, the Pope,s residence. - Very nice hotel with ample size room. Shower small, but common with Italian hotels.

We booked a budget room but were upgraded, for a small negotiable additional charge, to a better room which had wonderful views over Lago Albino and facilities outside in which to relax and enjoy the view.

The breakfast while traditional was superb. The pastries were absolutely
wonderful and were accompanied by your choice of beverages, yogurt,
bread and homemade jam, and a hardboiled egg.
The dog, Lu-La, while a Giant Canne Corso, is a cream puff who loves to be petted and will follow you all around the property but not into any of the facilities.

Everything was delightful! The views of Lake Albano are the best. The hotel staff are friendly. The breakfast is great. Close to Rome and the small towns in Castilli Romani yet you feel you are far away. Ristorante La Gardenia in Castel Gandolfo has view across lake of the villa and is romantic and affordable, ate there Fri and Sat evenings.
