1) The Location... It was just few meters from Manikarnika Ghat... 2) The Staff.. specifically the pandit ji, an elderly man... his advice's on the itinerary showed his expertise... 3) The guide whom I was provided with, again a Pandit Ji.. though a very young chap of 24 years, my guide Panditji Rupesh Dave knew each and every centimeter of the holy place... The owner of the guesthouse,Manu & his son, are very nice and helpful. They showed us around Varanasi and cooked some amazing lunches for us. The guesthouse is literally one minute around the corner from the burning ghat so is in a prime location.

If you like adventure you'll like Varanasi and this guest house is a good place to stay. Excellent location for the river. Roof top restaurant serves great food at good price. Owner and staff very helpful. Top location, best hospitality, nice and very clean rooms, toilets and baths within the rooms! Best value for money!. Close to to the Ganga, friendy people, clean bathroom. Varanasi was very full at the time I went. I had to add an extra night because of misreading train ticket dates and despite the hotel being full the staff were very accommodating to my needs and put me up in a spare store room for the night which was great of them. The rooftop breakfast (not included in room price). Sometimes you can have wifi in room. You can wash and leave drying your cloths in the cort. real nice and helpful stuff, best pancake in rooftop-restaurant. there's nothing i can write about which i can say was good . Location. Travellers will find lots of rats around the city... Not much in Sankatha Guest house though... If you have a phobia towards Rats... Then, forget any hotel, you cant help much with the holy city itself... As far as food at Sankatha guest house, there is noting for me to comment since I was out roaming in the city experiencing each and every bit of it.. and yes had actually didnt had the urge for food :-). The wifi is very unpredictable. Wi-if was NOT working although staff said "we'll fix it" I left and still didn't work. The restaurant was closed so I had to find food outside every time. Guest house is hard to find: after 5 days I still couldn't figure my way. Sketchy outdoors with animal manure and garbage but that is general in Varanasi's labyrinth. The price was probably a little on the high end for a budget hotel but it was worth it due to the proximity to the burning ghat. Lot of "home mouse"... Not easy to find. Near the crematory gath. coming with own bike is a problem, because of narrow roads and parkingspace. 1. they didn't honour there commitment of confirmed booking of our rooms which left a very bad impression although they did finally arranged the rooms for us but that wasn't the manner of going about it. Not clean, bad facilities, rats and insects, uncomfortable, poor electricity supply. - The location: Right next to the ghat where they burn the bodies - The manager : any money he can make on you he will take, even though at first he seems friendly enough - The price: totally overpriced compared to other guesthouses which are much nicer in varanasi.
