  Excellent place to start (or end) your trip. Host met us in airport and within 5 minutes we were at the guesthouse. Facilities are good and room is enough big. Also there are a lot of photos of host, old newspapers (unfortunatly only on Icelandic), books and photobooks about nature both on Icelandic and English.   The hotel is pretty new and clean, it is in the center of Keflavik and you can find a parking very easily. I stayed there before taking off from KEF airport (that is 5 minutes driving from the hotel) and they served me breakfast at 5:30 am. Mind you it is located 7KM away, so you need extra transport to get there. But this hotel offers shuttle bus service (not free). Rooms tidy and very large.

  I really liked this hotel. Free taxi drive from the airport was quite unexpected in a good way. Breakfast was just wonderful and the old ladies really made me feel like home. I noticed they had a very large fitness centre free of charge for hotel guests and I used the sauna - will use the weight lifting some other time. - This is the friendliest... co mówią ludzie » place imaginable, and helpful staff too. No wonder flight crews choose it for their stopovers. The free airport shuttle taxi service is a great bonus. Five AM breakfasts before early morning check-ins at Keflavik airport is a fantastic service as well. Great value for money.

  Hotel Berg was a recommendation from our car hire company Blue Cars. We had an early flight back to the UK and wanted somewhere near to the airport. We had been travelling around the Westernfjords where hotels are not big on welcoming exteriors... it's hard to tell if they are open at times. Lovely decor, clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful, offered to take us to the airport the next day and told us that breakfast was available from 4am! They have a Northern Lights wake up call that you can put your name down for. There's a coffee machine (with hot water and tea bags available too) in the lounge.
