It was Ok for the price but there are better places in Wernigerode for a little more. Note that they don't take credit or non-EC debit cards. Expect to have to pay cash. This was my parents 1st visit to Wernigerode and they were very impressed with the hotel, its food and the way we were looked after. An excellent hotel. A lovely friendly, family-run hotel, and very quaint in keeping with Wernigerode. A knowledge of a little basic German would be an advantage.

If you expect to arrive outside reception opening hours, please inform Hotel & Restaurant Zur Tanne in advance. Rental bicycles must be requested in advance. Please note that the hotel is a 3-storey building, and there is no elevator. The underground car park is situated in a neighbouring building, 30 metres from the hotel. The car park is suitable for normal-sized cars, and not SUVs. Please note that the hotel restaurant is closed until 28 November 2015. However, breakfast is available every day as usual.
