  The Alster Hof was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Hamburg.   I was a little bit sceptical when I booked this hotel because there were no other comments from boooking users but then I was really surprised. this hotel is comfortable and cozy and we had a pleasant stay. it is a bit old but you can see they are renewing it since it's now part of novum hotel group. A few minutes walk from the central station. Really good breakfast of fresh fruit, yogurt, delicious rolls, scrambled egg, etc. Coffee brilliant.

  The breakfast buffet was excellent. Also, the hotel was right on the lake, just a few steps away from several lakeside restaurants (which had indoor and outdoor seating).
