Almost everything about this hotel is fantastic. Very smart rooms with
ultra modern decor. Bathroom open plan with room but toilet does have
sliding door for privacy. Shower is great with multiple modes and no
problems with going hot or cold. Bed is comfy with separate single
duvets. Duvets and pillows are down but not a problem for my feather

It would be impossible to list what I loved about the Axel; I've
searched to find something that could be improved, but the rooms, the
location, the decor, the dedication fo the regitry staff to help in
every way..are all outstanding. I had some shower problems with the
hotwater, and both times, the young man at the desk came almost
immediately to resolve the problem...and did so, graciously.and

The staff and the service were very fine. I saw the gentleman behind the front desk offer to help another guest locate a place to buy some rare auto parts! Very helpful, cordial, friendly, and warm. Excellent location only 5 minutes walk to the S Bahn station, with a lift from the street directly down to the platform.
Plenty of restaurants just around the corner from the hotel, Particularly liked Tucholsky, Torstrasse 189. Be aware that they do not take credit cards.

The staff was very friendly but some appeared a bit reserved.
The location is great, it took about 20min to walk to the central station/city (the neighborhood is also very good).
If you prefer the metro the nearest station is just down the street.

We loved its proximity to the main train station (it can be reached in around 10 min walk). However, the area in which it is located is under construction so reaching the hotel carrying luggage was quite a pain (took us 25 min). In our room we found some brochures at the back of which there were some discount coupons for Madame Tussauds and Sealife. We were happy to use them and get 2 tickets for the price of 1. 1, This is a new hotel in a nice residential area only three subway
stops from the zoo station. The subway stop is a block away.
2. Several good restaurants in the immediate area.
3. Excellent buffet breakfast, albeit at 18 Euros a pop.
4. Everything very clean. -
