  Gilles, our host, was exceptional -- he gave us some good choices for a Basque meal in Bayonne as well as for touring to some very scenic villages in the rural part of the French Basque Country ( including the Petit Train La Rhune -- fabulous.) What I liked most were the breakfasts - excellent coffee and numerous delicious breads and jams. We had very nice conversations with some other guests then also.
