What a pleasant surprise we had to see the lovely L'Hermerel
situated deep in manicured farmland, with the chateau inside a medieval
style enclosure. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and beautifully
appointed rooms, and newly installed bathrooms. Proprietress Agnes was a
gem of efficiency, great restaurant recommendations and local tales. The
breakfast was in the chateau dining room and included homemade and local
cheeses, jams, butters and various milks from the farm's dairy.

A relaxed countryside location, on a working dairy farm, the kids loved seeing the cows. The family were extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. A perfect spot for exploring the historic beaches as well as many other things to do in the area. There were little thoughtful touches throughout the room which made a big difference. The breakfast was amazing with lots of local produce every morning.
This was everything we hoped for. We have always wanted to stay in a place that was build long ago with lots of charm, and this was it. Extremly friendly, and the breakfest was wonderful. She had made a choc. and caramel cake that was amazing. She also had many local jams, caramel, and milk. Very charming indeed. If we ever get to come back, we'll be heartbroken if we can't stay here. Loved it.
Manoir d`Hermerel is a hidden treasure, I recommend to anyone who wants to stay in a wonderderful guesthouse clean, warm, atmosphere and learn about the culture of Normandy. The people who run this beuatiful place make anything possible to make the guests feel welcome. I laso enjoyed the breakfast, the quiet and peaceful nature!.
This place is fantastic, full of character and history, and very peaceful. We were made to feel very welcome by the hosts and felt totally relaxed in our lovely 17th century room. Breakfast was great & plentiful, and it is ideally located to the Normandy coast or Cherbourg peninsular. We loved it.
Simply amazing bed & breakfast. Wonderful food and family, amazing location in the heart of Normandy. The Manoir de L'Hermerel was perfect with a family of three kids. The kids were enchanted and we were able to take it Normandy all in. We would definitely stay again.
this classic fortified farm is now- for another year- also a dairy farm. It originates from the 1400s and is the epitome of Norman farm style. Bkfst is wonderful, Mde LeMaire is lovely, so well located for Normandy touring. Just lovely.
Their is nothing we could say negative about this place if you are looking for peace and quiet then stay here. Anges is delightful and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and the history of such.
Calm tranquil location, very kind and friendly owners. Good breakfast choices with homemade typical Normandy food. Lovely rooms in interesting old Manoir.
The location was really good, close to Bayeux and all the WW2 beaches and memorials
The breakfast and Warm welcome
Very peaceful and Authentic place.
Love the history of the place and the owners were very hospitable. Very central for exploring Normandy and would recommend it to anyone.
Very friendly owners; great breakfast, perfect location and starting point for all historic places around the "D-Day" beaches...
Everything: great breakfast, relaxing place, wonderful hostess, warmth, helpful, kind.
Outstanding breakfast and congeniality of lady running the house.
Not that is it a bad thing, but there is little "in-room" entertainment. Not that you come to Normandy to sit in your room- you should be out seeing the historical sites.
I cannot think of anything I did not enjoy at this site.
nothing we enjoyed every minute.
There was a lot of humidity in the room despite the good radiator which was really unconfortable
We could hear all the noises from the other rooms.
