Friendliness of staff, rooms basic but good, bed and pillows comfy! bedding and towels spotless, bathroom and bedroom very clean. lovely atmosphere in the bar, small and cosy , service good . chicken yum! excellent location, ... ive paid more money for much less at other hotels .Thoroughly recommend, when we go back itll be our first choice,,. Very friendly staff & homely atmosphere. rooms were good with adequate facilities.Excellent location ,on the edge of market square & convenient parking for 50c per hr ( day time).This is the 2nd time we have stayed here & are likely to return.l.
wszystkie opinie » This place is a little 'gem' in Ypres. The staff were kind, courteous and very considerate. For our group, the location was perfect and the facilities, including the inclusive breakfast, were just what we wanted. Highly recommended. I ideally situated in Ypres for visiting the town, Menin gate ect. We enjoyed our stay, the room was clean, tidy and had everything you would need, Breakfast was sufficient, for what i would class as a budget we were very pleaded. Great location, 2 min walk to the Menin gate and Flanders Fields Museum. Positioned right on the market square. Very helpful staff, clean and basic which represents good value for money. Iper is very nice and the hotel is in the Grote Markt near all (1 mins to "In the Flanders Fields museum". Kind staff. The room was clean and very nice, bright and good furnished. situation couldn't have been better. It was quiet, and the bar was authentic. The service was first rate, the owner was very efficient getting us the wifi code in no time. Great value 70 euros half board for 3 was amazing and being a resturant the dinner was basic but good spit roast chicken and chips, breakfast basic but filling. The staff go out of their way to help you. Very comfortable bed. Great location close to the menin gate. Carpet could use a clean, otherwise perfect location. Great location with friendly staff. Using coffee filter machines to make tea was a bit of a fiddle- why not a kettle?. Bit cramped and bunk beds wobbly common areas tired. Not enough choise for breakfast only 2 rolls and cheese (we don't eat cheese) but no alturnative. Cornflakes would be welcome instead. The breakfast a bit miserly. The bed was a bit low - Tea at breakfast needed more than one tea bag in the pot for my taste. Parking awkward as there was a fair on the town square but as we had taken a wrong turn we ended up in the nearest car park to the hotel anyway!. Staff was a bit hard to get ahold of as they also work in the restaurant. I arrived on Saturday market day, and had to park quite far away. TV in my single room was in an awkward location, way on top of the wardrobe. Breakfast area a little cramped but continental breakfast very good. Tea/ coffee maker in room difficult to reach electrical socket without taking it off counter. Check out time of 10am a little too early. Squeeky bed. nothing at all. Slightly all-pervading smell of the hotel's rotisserie! They do love their kip aan t' spit!!. A bit small in the bathroom. bright lights above outside of window (our fault for choosing a room with a view) like bright sunshine in the middle of the night.. Dirty shower cubicle, stain grout. the hotel sold spices that permeated the air quite alot!. Nothing. Not knowing how to enter accommodation late at night, bar downstairs was just about open, we got let in through this as we found no other access. Parking for motorbikes not good. they still haven't taken the non smoking RULE totally on board in some parts of Europe, they think if there is no one else in the room, they smoke in it until a non smoker walks in. Some hotels have a non smoking area in the front of the hotel, so you sometimes have to walk through a cloud of the stuff before entering or seated outside and downwind of a ligit smoking table, how does that one work?. You get what you pay for. Room we had was a bit tired and could use a new carpet. Room on second floor from friends was just renewed. The decor seemed a bit run down. The room and bathroom need a renovation, the carpeting was old and the bathroom was tiny and worn out. A bit tired, needs modernising. Toilet difficult to use due to partition wall in the way. 3rd floor was dark and gloomy, slanted posts in rm were dangerous at night, floor made a lot of noise. Didn't know there was a breakfast. The hotel is tired, and could do with a refurb, but this is reflected in the price. The only parking is public. Whilst this is right outside, it is annoying if you were expecting private. Also there is a market, where the parking is, on a Saturday. This means you must park elsewhere on Friday night. The hotel do, however, remind you of this on Friday. Very small, cramped rooms. Would not recommend if looking for something more than basics. No air conditioning. Noisy, be warned on Friday nights there is a fun fair in the square and it goes on very late. For what it is it is quite expensive. Room had a funny smell to it. Bed was hard.
