Not many accommodation places make you feel like one of the family. We were so relax and comfortable at Orana House, that we felt it was our own. The guest sitting room was the delight of our stay. It was well stocked with magazines and books, and beautifully decorated. Take the time to read through the History of Orana, I'm sure you'll find it very interesting. A very generous breakfast was included, and our room was extremely comfortable. If you want to find out the true meaning of Excellent.
Arrived on a Sunday evening, after a flight from Uluru , missing luggage
from previous flight should have been at Hobart airport but was still
missing. Andy the host could not have been more welcoming and helpful
the following day in helping chasing up the airlines to get our luggage.
Orana house is a lovely building, good breakfasts, and the local bus
which goes into Hobart (20 mins) is only 5 mins walk away.
This was our second stay at Orana House in our week long trip to Tasmania. It is an ideal location for Hobart city centre and the airport. The mother and daughter who run the house are extremely friendly and helpful and provide a good varied tasty breakfast. Our second room was beautiful with views over to the Tasman Bridge. Altogether an excellent B & B with good parking and superb wi-fi connection.
Loved the breakfast. The family work really well together, and having tea and coffee in the room, as well as in the lounge, was much appreciated.
There is a gourmet take away type place about 100 meters away....turn left from the guest house and it's at the bottom of the road on the right. We had a tasty salad for $6.There is also a fish and chips place across the road.
Orana House was a beautiful old house with lots of character. The hostesses were charming and very helpful. Nice touches such as great teas and coffee in the room. Biscuits supplied in the common area. Nice lounge room. We were there in the middle of winter and our room was toasty warm. Very clean and great breakfast.
A wonderful old House with great ambience and comfort. The room was beautifully decorated and was warm and comfortable.
A satisfying breakfast was provided.
The B&B is close to the Harbour and we had a relaxing walk.
Orana House will be a pleasant memory from our Tasmanian visit for a long time to come.
We are a big group of ten family members including elderly, children aged 2 and 3, etc. Lada and her mother are very charming and nice. The breakfast is good. My mother and I loved the beautiful garden so much. We enjoyed our warm stay in the lovely Orana House very much. Thanks Lada and her family.
Our 7 day stay at Orana House was excellent. Good cooked breakfast
including seaonal fresh fruit. We could not fault any thing. Handy to
public transport if you just wanted to go into Hobart to the Saturday
Market. Best B&B we have stayed in. John and Jan van Dam. Kariong.
Australia.
This is a beautiful hotel in a traditional style, and has plenty of fun facilities. Our room was excellent, with spa and four-poster. The views across to Hobart are stunning. The breakfast was fine, and the staff very helpful and friendly. This will become our default hotel in Hobart.
the hosts (Andy and Lada and their mom) were very friendly, pleasant, accommodating, and knowledgeable of the area. It was centrally located to all the places that we visited while in Hobart. The rooms are lovely and very relaxing. Will stay here again if we're ever in the area.
Friendly staff who are lovely ladies.
Although house was built in 1903 but they did excellent renovation makes everything lovely and comfortable. Both my bf and I can not be more satisfied.
They also provide breakfast with almost everything you can expect to have at home.
The room and public areas are clean and very well maintained.
Andy was very helpful and provided personalised service. Both Andy and his sister are very hospitable.
Enjoyed our stay at Orana House and will recommend it to our family and friends visiting Hobart!.
Lada is a wonderful and welcoming hostess. Nothing was too much trouble. Even though we were the only guests that night, Lada still cooked us a full buffet breakfast. The house is so beautifully restored and extremely clean...Very special.
Very cooperative hosts who made us welcome without pressure. Good standard of accommodation for price with good breakfast provided. Location was quiet yet within easy access of attractions, need own transport. Free internet access.
The current owners/managers are most hospitable and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Facilities and atmosphere are excellent. The breakfasts are well presented and cater for all tastes. All in all highly recommended.
Lovelly setting with old world charm. Lada greated us and was very friendly ofering every assistance. Breakfast is exceptional value. We had a room with garden view over the river to Mt Wellington this was very pleasant.
the overall experience was good, convenient location , short walk to the coast line of a peaceful bay , staff happy and attentive. i loved windows that could open and the homely touch of being in a b& b.
Room was of very high standard with period furnishings and furniture, very roomy. Large bathroom with spa; separate toilet. Excellent dining room with very good food. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Orana House is a great place to stay. The staff were very welcoming, and nothing was a problem for them. The breakfasts each morning was great. If we come back to Tasi, we will be staying at Orana House.
Everything was wonderful. My hosts were very attentive and friendly.
Room and house was beautifully presented. Highly recommend visitors to
Hobart to stay at Orana House.
Dene - Geelong, Australia.
The host showed us around the house upon our arrival. There is a laptop provided in the lounge which was helpful for us to check in our flight the next day. The free wifi provided was excellent.
Everything, but the lawns badly needed mowing. I think you should employ a gardener part time as the garden beds also need attention, because the first impression of a place is very important.
The atmosphere of the house, it location and presentation was amazing. I just didn't want leave and am bringing my extended family next time. Absolutely loved it. A real treasure.
Friendliness of Lada and Tania, spaciousness of the room, good WIFI connection, excellent quiet location with easy driving access to Hobart, MONA, and the airport, ample parking.
The staff (owners) are the friendliest most helpful and accommodating Ive ever encountered. And Ive travelled the world :-)
And a great night view of Hobart's beautiful bridge.
The service and rooms are absolutely beautiful. Breakfasts were like five star hotels. Magnificent furniture in the house that gives it an upmarket feeling in the house.
The owners were really helpful and breakfast in the morning great.
Rooms were very comfortable and the house clean and has its own charm.
I would stay here again and again.
The welcome was warm, the room was comfortable and the food was good. A b&b with provision for self catering, fridge and microwave. Overall a very pleasant experience.
The room was very nice the bed was very comfortable the bathroom was nice and modern and all amenities required were there very relaxed atmosphere very friendly staff.
The Family that ran the house
were great they just wanted to help you even booking the Hotel for dinner and that was lovely and food
was great, will stay their again.
We had spa room, it was so relaxing after daily activities in Hobart.
The bed is quite comfort and the location is up on the hill, can overlook the bridge and water.
Beautiful house and garden. The breakfast was very good and Lada could not have been more helpful. We are pleased that we will be staying there again later this week.
A beautiful old house well maintained by two lovely ladies (mother and daughter). The breakfast was excellent, too much for us but other guests managed it fine.
We loved Orana House. The room was just beautiful, the welcome was so warm and friendly that you immediately felt welcome. We wish we could have stayed longer.
The staff were really pleasant and interested in your trip. They spoke to everyone at breakfast and were helpful to tourists who weren't familiar with Hobart.
although it was B&B it had more of a Hotel feel and the staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly and it was convenient for getting into Hobart.
cant speak more highly.as a matter of fact we have just booked flights back to tasmania in november and we will be rebooking accomodation here.
Fantastic all round. Beautiful house, great location superb staff very professional and friendly. Will recommend to everyone to stay there.
Beautiful large room (& entrance, communal lounge & dining room), and furnishings, with a quality feel of the past. Helpful hosts.
It was our second stay in just over a week. We were delighted with everything once again and it is ideally situated to get to the airport.
Location - very convenient to city
Ambience of the room
Views from our room
Friendly helpful staff
Decor of the room
Excellent breakfast.
an orana house like a fairy manor. lovely handsome boy and his younger beautiful sister. and his elegant mother give me deep impression.
Friendly welcome. Peaceful and always good service and advise on area. Lovely house in super location for relaxation and great views.
Orana House is a beautifull and charming residence. Our room was very comfortable. A short drive to Hobart and other attractions.
The place is awesome, super clean and confortable... And ofcourse the most important thing when you are traveling: nice people!!.
A lovely room, clean , flowers on the table, warm welcome ,had a wonderful stay, our second visit and it will not be our last.
Everything - especially the charming ladies who made us feel so welcome.
Also, having breakfast included was a real bonus.
Very comfortable and pleasant B & B with very attentive and helpful staff. Would have liked to have stayed longer.
Very quiet location
Attention to detail
Warm atmosphere
Terrace overlooking the beautiful garden and Tasman Bridge.
It would have been lovely, if we could have had our evening meal In-House, instead of having to go out and find somewhere else to eat.
Nothing.
Orana would be beautiful if the lawn was mowed!.
Nothing.
Everything was great.
Packing up to go home.
The hotel is some way from the City Centre, so that anyone without a car would find the location sub-optimal.
Nothing...we thoroughly enjoyed our stay (we stayed for 9 nights).
I wish i can stay longer here.
Nothing.
Our bathroom door needed repairing.
Nothing to dislike.
the " little things ", like a shower recess that looked like it hadn't been scrubbed in months , the piled up leaves in the courtyard and pathways, and the beautiful garden that is being over taken with weeds.
Nothing.
There was nothing to complain about.
No a/c or fan in the room I stayed in. Having said that, it was one of the hottest days in Hobart that I stayed there. So probably not a priority for a mornally cooler climate.
The TV reception very bad and only 2 channels.
The size of the en suite was adequate but small.
We regretted not researching the location better, we got lost arriving and did not appreciate the facilities in the area.
The spa bath was a bit small for two people and the tv was staticky.
We were looking forward to seeing the garden, it looked amazing on the website but it looked a little unloved. It didn't impact on our visit but it was a bit disappointing.
The bathroom in our room was very small.
absolutly nothing !!!!!.
TV reception poor. Breakfast needs more variety.
Sorry to see that the gardens hadn't been watered and were practically dead.
nothing.
The only dislike was that we could only pick up 2 or 3 TV stations. Installation of a set top box would solve this problem.
Nothing.
