Everything about this hotel is fantastic! It has character, comfort, staff, location and value for money all working in its favour! My boyfriend and I stayed in room 401 for a week and it was absolutely fantastic - especially the beautiful spacious balcony full of plants and big enough to fit 4 or 5 people on as guests for a few drinks or a game of cards etc. The fantastic staff then allowed us to move in to a MASSIVE triple room, still with a balcony and still good value, when my boyfriend's c.

From arrival upto the very end end of your stay, the hotel's staff will surely look after you. They will assist you with all your needs- from tours, places/resto's to go to, they will even get you your take-home gifts at the very last minute if you will ask them to. Everytime you leave the hotel, they would ask you if they could help you with anything. So if you are a group of friends, couples or anyone . Fresh breakfast in the hotel lobby, staff is very very friendly, kind and helpful. There is a fridge in the room and excellent wifi connection. Feel free to take any of the offered tours, we tried to do Halong Bay on our own and at the end it was too much hassle and we saved only about 12 usd. Their tour cost 35usd and next time we would definitelly book one. Area seems to be safe, no problems aroud. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hanoi Lucky guesthouse. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. They organised trips to Halong Bay & Mai Chau Valley for us at a very good rate. Loved the location, right in the old quarter yet our room was very quiet as we were at the back of the hotel. For budget accommodation we would highly recommend staying here. No duvet so I froze all night, the receptionist sleeps in the reception area, some1 use my shower, breakfast is 2 eggs and a piece of bread! Vietnam is so dirty and they rip you off if you are white! So sorry i came!. We stayed on the 4th floor, there is no lift, but they help you with your baggage. As many other places in se Asia, shower is on the wall with no glass or curtain around it so basically you shower the whole bathroom, toilet included. Get ready for a lot of polution in Hanoi. Didn't matter but the shower is pretty much over the toilet we have found this to be quite common practice here though. Also we when booking trips through them as around to double check you are getting a good price. Nothing. Staff messed up our second reservation for our room after we asured ourselves two times. But still found a solution by giving us a room in their second guesthouse. The rooster on the other side of the street!!! Woke me every morning. Ask for a room facing the back to avoid this. Some rooms had no windows, breakfast was made inside the reception. The hostel was closed during the night and we had to wait for staff to wake up in the morning to leave. Breakfast was made inside reception. We where relocated to Luck guesthouse 2, which is just a minute away from Lucky Guesthouse one. That was not a big problem, but if you bokk a standard room there, the room has no window, or actually it has one, but it is just 50 cm away from the next wall and the ac is right outside the window and thats kind of noisy... The staff was a little pushy, but that's Vietnam!!. Sales pitch. Everything!!!!.
