  From the moment Anthony checked me in at the front desk I was surprised and pleased by the premises. There is 24 hour manned parking lot security and desk personnel available around the clock. My room and the bathroom was immaculate with far better quality than I would expect at the price. It was clean and you had everything you needed. All new linens every day and well maintained. Security on site in the evenings was a plus. The outdoor pool and hottub were also well maintained and a nice ammenity for the stay. I've stayed at hotels for triple the cost that were less well kept and less comfortable.

  Beach Haven Inn though an older facility is basic, clean, comfortable and economic accomodation within steps of the Pacific Beach boardwalk, but at the quieter north end of Crystal Pier. Having a kitchenette and pool deck BBQ makes it easy to have some meals in when not enjoying the many restaurants in PB. We enjoyed being able to walk for miles on beach/boardwalk, grocery stores were within 5-6 blocks walk a - For the amount we paid we were very pleased. Walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The bed was very comfortable! When I read the description of the room it didn't say there was a fridge, microwave or coffee maker...when we walked in the room there was a full kitchen! The staff was always walking around and cleaning up even late at night. One staff member saw us up late and alerted us he had a parking spot open up front so we got to move our car closer.

  This hotel was fantastic, a true gem. The staff go beyond the call of duty and take pride in remembering all their visitors. The price was a screaming deal, the location is ideal - rental car recommended but everything is close by. Our room was on the upper level so we did not hear the pool. The air conditioning worked great, - I liked that it was walking distance to the historic old town. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The complimentary breakfast included waffles, boiled eggs, variety of cereals, hot cooked oatmeal (not the packaged stuff), fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries and toast. The rooms come with DVD players and they offer a wide selection of movies free of charge. There is also local transit (bus) station very close to the hotel.

  We were pleasantly surprised to find the location was within walking distance to Belmont Park. We were also able to rent bikes and cruise the boardwalk as well as the bay. We rented a kayak and tootled around the bay. The room was comfortable and quiet. At check in, the clerk gave us all kinds of helpful info and answered all questions. Room lovely and great having the separate lounge area. We have been travelling around California for the last few weeks from New Zealand and this hotel is voted the kid's favourite so far!!

  The hotel, while an older building, had been recently renovated and what a pleasant surprise with all the character & artistic flair in the room (and even the hallway!) The "wow" factor was definitely there when we opened the door to the King suite. The room was a lovely size, the bathroom huge, with great tilework and an awesome shower. The sofa bed actually had 2 separate beds, so we could have had m - I stayed here very recently for six nights while attending a conference downtown. Let me say it was totally worth the extra effort and cost in cabs to get downtown ( half hour by bus, 15 minutes 13 bucks by cab). The staff is friendly, courteous, and professional, from the cleaning staff, valet parking attendants, front desk folks and management. I get the feeling people love their jobs and want to deliver good service to the guests. The bar downstairs is awesome and deserves its own review. On
