Despite the dated decor, the verandas and corridors were wide, there were privacy partitions built in between each door (a nice touch) and the pool was a flowering, private retreat that we enjoyed very much. This allowed us to get into San Clemente earlier and take advantage of an early dinner time on Valentine's Day. Also, I had a meeting scheduled the next day at 11am, which is the check-out time. The staff allowed me to stay until 12:30, so I could have my meeting and then pack up and leave. They were really friendly.
