  I loved the history of the hotel. It's not like the huge hotels on the island, but it is romantic in that it kind of takes you back in time. Don't look at it as what it could be, but for what it once was and still is, and you will fall in love with it. Arrived at night, so didn't see that they have this beautiful view of the ocean. Parking was good even though others took advantage of parking along the perimeters of the lot. That is, we wanted to be sure that we could get out of the parking lot in the very early hours of the morning so that we we could get ur early inter-island flight. Hotel staff curule ensure tat people did not park in the thoroughfare of the exit of the parking lot.

  I appreciate the hard work each staff member put into making the facilities clean and beautiful, with a friendly atmosphere. And, it's close to a great smoothie shop!! Parking was affordable and beaches accessible with an enjoyable walk. - Location; price; size of bed and size of room; very clean; but the best thing of this hotel is the old lady ... hva folk sier » singing during breakfast. That was the best description of what aloha means... Very good initiative!

  Uncle Billy's has character! Lovely central garden and great view of it and the bay from the breakfast area. I love the papayas at breakfast time. Very pretty lounge. The free hibiscus blossoms are a nice touch. Coconut Willy's was our beer hangout. I really enjoyed the slack key guitar playing by Ben Kaili and the malasadas made by Baker Tom. Staff was friendly and view from room was beautiful - nice garden & ocean view It is an older place - not modern but good value for the price

  The location cannot be beat close to the beaches market and shops. It was like living in a botanical garden beautiful plants flowers and amazing pool. Walking down the pathway from the lobby to the beach was like walking thru a sweet little jungle ... I loved it! The Kona Islander Inn is like a gem in the middle of town. It would be helpful if this were advertised on letsbookhotel.com. Luckily the hotel had a better room available than the one star unit we first saw.
