  We loved almost everything about this hotel. I totally disagree with the reviewer who said it was nothing like the pictures. It was exactly like the pictures and just as we expected - rustic but quaint and comfortable - and certainly not dirty as another reviewer said. When we arrived there was fresh apple juice and cookies waiting which was deli... hva folk sier » cious. We did get a free upgrade to a king room, which was a nice surprise. We spent the whole evening in the adjacent Shovel Handle pub where the sta - Loved the setting. The room was cozy, however I did notice that there were dirty glasses that had been overlooked by housekeeping, under the bed. We would definitely go back.

  The sense of history is great, along with the clean rooms, friendly staff, and good food. This place is one of a kind, excellent value, and I will certainly recommend it to others. - Greeted in the morning with an extensive breakfast buffet and beverages to munch on while our ordered breakfast was being cooked. Staff very friendly and helpful.
