  Excellent staying experience, quiet and very clean, with friendly staff and reasonable rates. The gas stand next door was very convenient for buying snacls and drinks. Also a bus stop right nearby going to Iowa State U. - Visited Ames to tour ISU. Hotel very clean, staff very friendly. Our campus tour lasted longer than we thought and our late ch... hva folk sier » eckout became even later. No hassles. Hadn't used Best Western much before. Will now.

  The room was clean and bright. The walls are painted in colors to help open it a bit as the room is a bit on the smallish side. When we walked in we realized we'd stayed at a GrandStay before and remembered that we liked it that time as well. The bathroom is generously sized and the shower head is tall enough for me to fit under without curlin... hva folk sier » g in a small ball (I'm about 6'). The bed was a bit harder than we'd anticipated, but the comforter was very plush and, well, comfortable. I love tha - I really enjoyed the suite that allowed to be sit in a room and not lay on a bed.
