Set in the small fishing town of Oban, Corran House Hostel is made up of two buildings in a Victorian terrace with scenic views across the bay to the Isle of Kerrera and the hills of Mull.
A TV is featured in all rooms at Corran. Most have private bathroom facilities, and some have sea views. A spacious and fully-equipped shared kitchen is available for guests’ use, with seating for 20 people. Towels are provided.
A large range of malt whiskies, bar meals, and a big-screen TV with Sky are featured in the on-site bar, which overlooks the sea. There is also a pool table and an adjacent patio area. Guests can enjoy a 10% discount when dining in the hostel's bar, Markie Dans.
Oban town centre is a 10-minute walk from the hostel, and features the Oban Distillery and McCaig's Tower. St Columba's Cathedral is less than a 5-minute walk away. Glencruitten Golf Course is 1 mile away, and is nestled among the hills of Glencruitten Estate.

As we made a decision quite late, most of the hotels were fully booked. However I dont regret. We got a really nice quite large room with amazing sea view. Staff were friendly especially nice guy who works at the reception and the bar in a basement. During check in we were informed that wifi works only in ground floor, however we had good connection in our room. Housekeeping definitely did they best, room was nice and tidy. I work in 4 stars hotel so I can't compare... but I'm satisfied and I c. alle vurderinger »
Clean, comfortable. Like living in a big family home. Breakfast was honor system, you cooked or ate and then paid the prices in a honesty jar.
Made our own breakfast, cleaned up after or selves and talked with lots of different folks from all over.
Beds were great, showers had plenty of hot water.
Great price. Pub under neath the hostel, I can see that in the summer with the outside pub overflow it would be loud.
The staff were very hospitable and for an extra 5 pounds upgraded our twin room to a double facing the sea with beautiful bay windows and a great view both day and night. The room was spacious and comfortable. This was the only hostel that we stayed in and were very surprised how lovely it was.
Central location, cleanliness, friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere, we loved the kitchen set up. Staff knew the area and gave tips on good places to visit, also would be willing to phone ahead to confirm trip booking if language barrier was an issue.
Fantastic location right on the seafront :) , nice staff ,relaxing atmosphere , great food in traditional bar downstairs , interacting with other residents in kitchen was a nice experience , Oban is a lovely place , would stay here again .

This is hostel type accommodation. It was perfect for a group of guys doing outdoors activities.
You make your own food in a well equipped kitchen. Supplies are available on an "honesty basis".
Location was great, staff were helpful, rooms were very clean and comfortable, good facilities and it was good that the carpark was right next door. Kids enjoyed the unlimited Wifi connection.
The position of the guest house is just superb, marvelous views and next door to a pub. The price was just right and the room ideal for my use. Full fried breakfast would be a great advantage.

the lift being out of service meant lugging 22kgs up two flights of stairs-hard yakka at 77 years old!.
Unfortunately my wife and I had to split up with our two kids over two different rooms. I'm not sure why letsbookhotel.com brought this option up for my search criteria or what I missed but I at least thought we'd be neighbours!.
The beds were somewhat hard and some of the guests were inconsiderately noisy very late at night.

Somebody open the fire exit in the morning and the alarm went on for few minutes very early in the morning waking us up - but that was no fault of the Hostel. Shared bathrooms could be updated.
bit more expensive but outweighed by comfort and space.
While it was really clean, it would have been nice to have one extra sheet under the duvet. A minor thing overall, but would be a nice touch.

High ceilings mean you can hear guests in room above very loudly when they are moving about their room.
