Went to Nottingham Races. close to town.24hr bar. Friendly staff. Clean, modern room, good powerful shower. Good (free) breakfast. The bar area was good, and the staff polite and helpful.The staff were very friendly and helpful. Efforts of staff to do a good job. Close to Holme Pierrepont. it did what it said ont he tin - very good value and very friendly / helpful staff.

The hotel is situated within a very pleasant suburb of Nottingham and is a short taxi ride to the city centre. The room and amenities were basic but comfortable and good value for money. The room was kept clean and the staff were helpful, throughout our stay. Friendly staff, secure parking and very good full english breckfast.service. It was conveniently located and good value. A commercial hotel at a reasonable tarif. helpfullness of the manager. The room was clean but very basic but the inclusive breakfast was very good. The staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was very nice.Clean beds, fresh towels, friendly staff, good food. friendly staff and tasty breakfast. 24 hour bar, excllent breakfast. Friendly staff. Good Location. I liked the location and the friendliness of the staff and the food at breakfast was good.The bed was comfortable too .cheap and convenient. location. Convenient location for South East Nottingham. The location was very good.It was fairly close to Nottingham centre and had car parking. Location. Plenty of hot water, clean linen. Breakfast good. 2 star hotel with 2star quality. near to my venue. Nothing. Windows need replacing but that's it. one room i booked,they put my friends in the fire escape room.the shower head was broken too. we had to change hotels because of stag and hen nights.which ment we would probabley get a disturbed night and my daughter had a audition early the next morning.Hallway and communal carpet (not in the room) was filthy. Room was a bit small, even for a single. it would help if more attention was spent on temperature control of the room we stayed in. It was way too hot with the radiator unfortunately having no teperature control knobs on it.the room I stayed in did not seem very secure,which meant I did not have a good nights sleep. The rooms were dingy as were the shower and toilet. None too clean and very very shabby. Noisy, could hear other guests complaining through the night. Very basic in all ways.Net curtains were dirty, Window latches broken, we couldn't open the window properly. The radiator wouldn't turn off and so we were roasted. Apart from these niggles I would reccomend the hotel, I really enjoyed my stay. The room was very cold. It warmed up when the heating was switched on but in the morning it was very cold again.I think the insulation is poor. Bit dated. Needs refurbishment. The room was basic but ok The toilet seat needed fixing as mount was missing shower control was a bit dodgy water two hot or cold.I missed a few basic comforts like bedside table and lamp and an easy chair. Also the heating in our room was not on (room 22). poor lock on door and lack of car park space. Needs updating and redecorating. I would have liked a bedside table. The bathroom in our room had a strong smell of cigarette smoke which flowed into the bedroom. The showers were cold! The beds were ok but very small.Mattress awful, windows rotted, no plug in sink, everywhere needed agood clean, tea cups in room unwashed, carpet unhoovered. Only onemember of staff who did everything.Hotel caters more for stag and hennights and contract workers, not really tourist standard. On arrival, the male receptionist was very unfriendly. The room given to me had not been cleaned from the last person and had no toilet seat. The second room was dirty and very cold and need refurbishing. Only one tiny light out of four was working making it impossible to read.Room very hot so had to leave windows open so very noisy. Also there wasa stag party staying there who made constant noise all night - and triedto get into my son's room and thought it hilarious. The whole hotelneeds some tlc, ripped curtains in our room and tired furnishings. Hotel was very old and in need of a complete refurb. The hotel is in need of a lot of T.L.C. Very basic room with poorfacilities. Although the hotel food wasn't bad with a bit of care andattention it could be improved significantly. it was run down - rooms v poor std. needs refurbing. No working tv, No WiFi (needed to send documens for work), No sky tv,Dirty room, torn and stained bed covers, Shower chrome badly scaled-notcleaned in years, Weeks of dust on tv. Skirting boards missing.Receptionist not able to give directions to Hovel, sory Hotel; what doesthe receptionist do.. Basically......absolutely 'everything'! :( This hotel has to be one ofthe worst places i've ever stayed at in my life.When I arrived,themember of staff had 'no record' of my booking? So,i had to change from adouble room.....to a 'grotty,sesspit of a single room'. The shower wascold, and the drains 'stank like a sewer'. I couldn't wait to check outof the Rufford and will never return.
