Everything about the hotel was excellent. The staff were polite, friendly and efficient. The room was huge and so was the bathroom, both were modern and the bed was excellent. Servicing of the room was efficient and well done. All usables replaced every day. The bar and restaurant facilities were also excellent with superb menu and food. We stayed here over a weekend in October 2013 and had a lovely time. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and allowed us to have a late check-out, which helped with our travel plans. The food onsite was incredible! We didn't even want to venture outside!.
alle vurderinger » If you want a local Scottish experience with fabulous service, food and comfort this is the place to go. So much so the locals drink and eat at this hotel. Very clean and I'm the hear of great golf country. The staff were superb and no request was too small. Extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. Felt relaxed and at home. Perfect location for Beach and town. Very quiet. The Breakfasts - which were included with the price, were excellent, as was the service. Top floor room at back gives views over Forth. Good dinner and full Scottish - local food and freshly cooked. Impressive array of beers and whiskies in the Flyhalf Bar. Within 5 mins walk of golf course. Wonderfully clean and exceptionally comfortable. Good food from onsite restaurant. Great access to local golf courses. Location is easily accessible from Edinburgh and adjacent to town of North Berwick and excellent as a golf centre. Ticked virtually all the boxes. Old building maintained to very high standard, rooms spacious with high ceilings. The food was superb. The wine list excellent. All the staff members we dealt with were very friendly and polite. The only sitting furniture in the room was a very low backed settee in the bay window, which we found very uncomfortable, not to say painful, to sit on for any length of time. The windows were only single glazed, which made the bathroom a little chilly on cold mornings and allowed external noises (delivery trucks in the early morning eg) to penetrate the room easily and were disturbing when sleeping. Otherwise an excellent experience. nothing!. My only complaint was wifi, it only seemed to work in the lobby. This however is a very minor complaint and should not put you off. Dinner menu a bit limited dominated by various burgers and did not change on the three nights we spent there. If we had to pick one thing, it would be not having a phone in the room. batter on fish. Could do with a lift. Wife with mobility problems struggled with stairs. I have tasted better lobsters that the one I had for my evening meal. The mattress. we were in room 9 which is coved and we had to be careful not to injure heads when arising from one side of the bed. Not getting the room I requested and being allocated one without a bath. Booking well in advance and finding that late cost would have been £20 cheaper. Being given an inaccurate final bill, meal and drink from previous night were omitted. Ordered a newspaper which I never got. Reception staff & value of room for £ paid was lacking. We were in room 3 which was over the kitchen and very warm. We had to open the windows and keep the fan on at all times but the kitchen exhaust fan ensured that we received all of the cooking smells.
