Situated on the scenic east coast of Scotland, Canty Bay House boasts a cliff-top location which offers striking views across the Firth of Forth and the rolling East Lothian countryside. The property overlooks and provides access to the secluded Canty Bay beach, located 150 metres to the north.
The guest facilities are self contained and feature a large entrance hall and a recreation room with a TV and a pool table. The en suite rooms boast free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, and a mini fridge, as well as complimentary refreshments.
In the mornings, full Scottish breakfast is served in the bright and airy dining room. Evening 3-course meals are available with prior arrangement. Various cafés, restaurants and local shops can be found in North Berwick, 2 miles from the Canty Bay House.
The mid 14th century fortress of Tantallon Castle is only a 10-minute walk, while the Museum of Flight, Scottish Seabird Centre, and Belhaven Brewery are all within a 15-minute drive.

Canty Bay is more of an experience than a small hotel. From first
greeting on arrival, the owner and the team make sure the standard of
your stay is exactly as you would choose. The actual setting is on a
hill overlooking Bass Rock, which gives great views and can, on
occasion, be windy. It is just above a soft sandy private cove, easily
accessed down a relatively steep but well surfaced path. It is a short

Stayed here for a night over the bank holiday weekend and have to say the whole stay was fantastic. We were lucky enough to get the Bass Rock room which surprise surprise has amazing views of Bass Rock! It also has a large comfy bed, great shower/ensuite and direct access to the deck. There's a fridge in the room to chill a bottle of wine for drinking on the deck.
The accomodation is located on a beautiful bay with a path down to a lovely secluded beach.
There is also a games room with TV, boo.
Everything!!! - location, comfort, breakfast & very unobtrusive but attentive staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The bedrooms were beautifully done out. We loved the mix of old and new. It all made for a wonderfully relaxing stay. The views are fantastic. No complaints or faults whatsoever. Would have no hesitation in recommending Canty Bay House to other travellers. It needs to be on everybodys " bucket list". We will definitely make a return visit.
Brilliant welcome, fab views and real luxury! Super breakfast, served early for us, as we were headed out for a trip to the Isle of May.
Don't miss the stroll to their private beech with sunset views to the Bass Rock. Bliss.

the whole thing is stunning , i never thought i will write about a place or a hotel that way . We had great time in the hotel and the area around with many fantastic golf courses , nice restaurants and lovely nature .

My partner and I stayed for one night; next time it will be for longer! We liked everything:room,location,breakfast ,staff,peaceful coastline,ease of transport to Edinburgh etc.Great!.
The warm welcome and we had a frdige in our room which was great as it was very hot weather whe wre were thewre and we had our wine, water and juice nicely chilled.
John and Diana were lovely and made us feel very welcome. The house and grounds were stunning and the clifftop location and the views were the icing on the cake.

Hotel lacked ambience, and felt rather 'lonely' at night
with no other guests and owner absent on last night of our 3 night
stay. Breakfast adequate but not "luxury" I.E. lacked
choice (particulalry healthy choices, E.g no natural yoghurt, nuts
and only sliced bread etc.). Limited choice extended to room with
lack of choice of teas etc, considering the cost. Too formulaic and
lacking imagination. Overall grossly overpriced (£150 / night)
for what it was.
