We liked in particular the location. It is located very close to the train station which then gives you easy access to Brighton and surrounding towns. The staff were fantastic right from the moment we arrived, they did everything they could to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. Facilities were excellent, very impressed and would definitely stay here again and recommend to family & friends. The rooms were clean & comfy, the food was great and all the staff were really friendly & helpful with local knowledge etc.
alle vurderinger » Location was lovely, one of the prettiest backpackers on the outside. Right by some fantastic South Downs walks, and the train station. The different social spaces were great. Staff were really helpful and informative. We liked the close proximity to Newhaven as we were using it as a stop-over en route to France. We also liked the kitchen/dining facilities provided for self catering - and the drying room was an additional bonus. Very clean and efficient. Good breakfast facilities. In the outbuildings of a former Sussex farm with nice countryside surroundings. Not perhaps luxury but very convenient for Glyndebourne. Lovely location if you want to get away from the big cities, and a pleasant hike to Monk's House. The showers were absolutely amazing and the staff was extremely helpful. The staff did all possible to support our stay, including providing bedding FOC to make up the shortfall caused by letsbookhotel.com information confusion. spacious room on suite. decore had character. Beds were clean and comfortable. The lounge was comfortable and pleasant. Kitchen excellent. I took my 2 young boys and stayed the the log cabin they loved it so much they are asking to go bak.........freindly staff good location. The property and surrounding countryside was lovely, but the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back!. If unfortunately you go past it as we did, it is quite a distance down the road before there is an oppprtunity to turn round. N/A. Bring earplugs - you might have bad traffic noise, and all the doors are super-bangy. No internet. Nothing. Be aware, when making bookings through letsbookhotel.com, some accommodation at Lewes YH does not include beds or bedding. No prior warning on letsbookhotel.com web and only small, easily missed mention on confirmation page. Not enough information about surrounding walks and interests. Reception (female) not very welcoming. Male receptionist on leaving very good. Not keen on having to give exact time for breakfast when on holiday.. The bunk room was hardly large enough to be classed as a double but had 3 bunks in it. At full occupancy this was deeply unpleasant, & felt more like a cell (although prisoners get more room). It just felt like greed on the part of YHA, with little thought for the comfort of their members. Very noisy A26 just behind, noisy doors, extremely narrow shower rooms & tiny sinks. It was a bit noisy until midnight possibly from guests arriving, not sure. The breakfast priced at £4.99 was reasonable. However, it was barely warm,eggs were broken and there was no care taken. A totally different experience to the evening. The road traffic is very fast and dangerous, though could not hear it in the room. Hearing the plumbing from the next door bedroom's wash basin - both late at night and early morning! Paying £4.90 for breakfast when I dont eat a cooked breakfast - disgusting sweet yogourt. Otherwise, breakfast for those who eat cooked breakfast was very good!. By booking on letsbookhotel.com we lost our YHA members discount. This wasn't made obvious to us when we booked. The accommodation was very near the road so if you opened windows it was noisy. It wasn't easy to find, without maps will be difficult. No mirror in bedroom. room was so hot, incredibly hot. had no locker. Corridoor doors banging very loudly when trying to sleep. The road signage on the extremely fast A26 needs urgent attention. There is need for a 400 metre advance warning sign on such a sharp right turn. Ideally it needs a traffic island to prevent a serious accident. n/a. Being new Staff had little knowledge of walks, routes etc. Different person on the desk almost every day. Near the road. Nothing. We had booked well in advance an ensuite room and ended up in a small room without a bathroom...and without a proper window! Besides, the hostel is right by the A26, which is quite busy until late at night. the bunk room was next to the road and the traffic noise kept us awake it was our first visit and staff did not inform us of facilities available, they were however helpful when requesting a room change. It is crazy hot in the tiny bedrooms and made it impossible to sleep. The bedrooms are right next to a motorway and is very loud even with the window shut, so opening to get some air is not possible. I wouldn't stay again. Beds in quad-room were not prepared. Spending sometime to set up the beds after having a long trip. Too close to A26.
