me and husband enjoyed the day in Gosport and staying in acorn lodge guest house because my husband was base in Gosport 56 years ago and we enjoy the trip very much mrs p cairns.
The pair running Acorn are friendly and happy to help. Best shower facilities with proper hot water.
it is close to the submarine museum (about 15 mins).
Friendly staff, nice large room. Very good location for getting to see Portsmouth by ferry so you can leave the car behind.
Good value for short stay.
We enjoyed our stay very much, very quiet, and no-one bothered us. Very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble as regards the staff.
We liked everything, very friendly staff, big, warm and convenient room, very good internet connection, and convenient parking.
Good friendly staff working hard to put together a good Guest House. Very flexible - did a lot to help.
I would like to say thank you staffs who help me and give me comfortable everythings when i came here.
Been kindly offered the late checkout, so we can have hot shower after marathon which is a good plus!.
Easy to find. Was nice and quite.Good nights sleep.
It was close to my family.
The room was clean and very spacious with lots of storage space. The bathroom was excellent and had obviously been recently done, and was very clean and pleasant. The beds were comfortable. Access was good as we were out late but were allowed into the lodge at any time due to our keys. Check out was easy.
Comfortable beds...spacious,warm rooms. Nice new bathroom with excellent shower. Also located well for Gosport Ferry.Tea and coffee making facility.
Good, clean room and facilities, comfortable bed. Electronic entry to the property made it safe and convenient.
I was a late check in and it did not seem to be a problem.
Also the checking out was very easy.
Allowed to check in early after a long flight from Australia.
quiet location
polite,efficient staff .
two min walk to town center.
Very Clean and furnished,.
Good location.
Room and bathroom were well equipped and comfortable, but overheated.
It's proximity to the foot ferry to Portsmouth.
Nothing much.
nice bathroom.
Not a lot.
nothing.
I can not think of a good word to say about this accommadation. If
anything, I would suggest not to stay at this place.
staff.
Only downside there was no breakfast option.
Tired looking (but they are currently doing it up). No cot/travel cot provided even though on info it says it can be provided if asked in advance. Plug sockets in random places. Not very sound proofed. Tatty bent metal blind rather than curtains. No breakfast provided.
We had 3 day stay but Room service on only 1 day. Still being decorated / renovated will be much better when all work finished.
Everything was to our liking and to a good standard. We would stay there again.
The refurbishment needs finishing. Otherwise very good!.
Parking.
The price as we were told it was bed and breakfast.
Check-in took longer than we felt was necessary.
You can hear noises from other rooms, especially if you have one above you. It is an old place, built 1890's...may bother light sleepers.
Overpriced for the package as no breakfast and the water did not get higher than lukewarm.
How to enter and reception was confusing and messy.
1. There was no clearly marked entrance. every possible entrance was locked. i rang two different doorbells and still waited outside five minutes fto be allowed in.
2.no soap in the bathroom
3. fire exits where not pointed out
4. no storage heaters in the room.
not a b&b as you dont get breakfast,ok for one night for contractors.
I thought that I had book a B&B and not just a B with no B which was rather a blow in that I had to make an earlier start in order to find some where to have Breakfast.
The heaters in my room didn't work.
Parking- advertised as plenty but no indication how to get there, at the back of the house. You could not stop in front of the house on a double yellow to find out where to go. The one and only staff member took too long to answer the security locked front and back doors and until one was finally checked in and given a key for automatic access the place seemed to be entirely deserted. Not a very friendly welcome!.
Drywall screws in the parking lot. Office open until 11 P.M. with loud
talking by staff in the office next to our room while we tried to sleep.
No breakfast. Had to ask for tea service. Room not made up daily.
Uncomfortable beds.
The value for money was no good. Overpriced in comparison to what you get.
after sleeping in the single bed my daughter has a rash on her arms????????
hmmming noise all nite ? boiler outside light perhaps.
Window had major gap that let the cold, wind and rain in. Heating broke down one night.
the room looked depressing, needed some colour, pictures or something, anything!!!!
Thought it was overpriced. My partner and i had bites from the bed in the morning so obviously we were not amused by that. : (((.
Only one chair. No where to put toiletries. No bath towel rails. No dressing table. Very basic.
There was no hot water, so none of us could have a shower. Our television did not work.
The rooms were dirty, the ceiling tiles were covered in stains. Loose
floorboards, shower only had 1 setting, hot. So we had to use the sink
to have a shower with and to wash ourselves. It is well over priced for
what you get. The owners are only interested in one thing, thats is your
money. To mark it out of 10 I would give it -10. do not stay here go
else where.
it was more like a council refuge b&b for the homeless. Damp patches on the ceiling ,the furniture was left over from the old peoples home with handles falling off. There were addicts stopping their through the council that stood outside our room all night smoking and doing drugs. Don't book this so called b&b.
It was noisy all night its like a half way house for drop outs its not clean its shabby the bed stank of oldness dont think there changed very often definitely wouldn't stay there again and will not recommend to anybody not even a flea !!!.
