Rooms at the Ardleigh are decorated in warm colours and have pinewood wardrobes and writing desks. Rooms include TVs and a hospitality tray. The spacious dining room serves traditional cooked Scottish and vegetarian breakfasts. There are several excellent bistro’s and seafood restaurants surrounding the dock. The Royal Botanic Gardens are just 500 metres from the Ardleigh. There is a bus stop outside the guest house with regular services to Edinburgh city centre, which is 1.5 miles away. Edinburgh has fantastic sightseeing including the Scottish Gallery of National Art and Holyrood Palace.

To start off our 3 days we were arriving after the check in time, but the owner stayed up to let us in and told us the best way to get into town to get something to eat. Each day we got a great offering at breakfast and our room made up. We also had to check out early on the last day, so would be missing breakfast, and upon coming home late that night found we had been left a 'breakfast to go' in our room. We were really made to feel at home the whole stay.
alle vurderinger » This is a family guesthouse, and that explains why you feel so much at home there. The floor cover, design and dining room all make you feel a special guest. Breakfasts icluded, wifi is free. And fast. Plus a relatively close distance from the center - that's the best investment for a young couple, friends or a solo traveller who want to enjoy Edinburgh in any time of year. Bob was a great host. Explained how to get to Oldtown upon arrival as well as directing us to a great waterfront restaurant. He also called a cab for us. Although we were on the 3rd floor our luggage was in our room upon arrival. The B&B was spotless and very nice!. The staff/owner was very friendly and helpful. We had to leave before breakfast breakfast on day of departure, owner arranged taxi and made us a packed lunch, much appreciated. Bus routes outside straight into city centre. Room were spacious for 2 adults & 2 children ... Nice house and view from the room ... Warm welcome ... Good Breakfast... Everything looks the same with the pictures on the website ... Clean room and bathroom ... The proprietor was very helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The location was convient for both the city and the coastline on foot as well as having a good bus service. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff at the gotel was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great! We really liked the view from our room. The location was very convenient. He even arranged a taxi for us at 3.45 in the morning so that we could catch the flight to Belfast. The b&b was in a good location with bus stops just outside or around the corner .The breakfast was very good and the owner very helpful giving us advise about how to get to places . I liked everything: it was warm, comfortable and cosy, very attentive and friendly attltude of the staff. I wish I could come there again and bring my family and friends.. ideal for the purpose of our trip,very welcoming and friendly, lovely breakfast and went out of their way to accomodate the soya milk and porridge for the marathon runner. Parking is along the road outside the house. Castle view can be seen from the room. City centre is nearby. Very nice and friendly. we stay there last weekend. the house it self located in quiet area, 10 mins by bus from town center, with bus stop just 2 mins walking distance.if you're renting a car, so its good location for you cause lots of parking slots with main street just in front of you. the dinner room was very nice , with lots of small accessories which makes your morning so cosy ;) breakfast was fair, with english breakfast, which is one sausage, one tomato, one peace of bacon and three mushroom with cereals juice. nothing. All was good. Separate Bathroom. Th showr in our room was actually outside teh room. But this is was becaus all the other riooms with en suite showers were fully booked due to the busy season. Apart from that, everything else was great. Bathroom too small. the shower cubicle couldn't be more than 2 by 2 ft. its really cramped. as a result water spills near the toilet seat. overall the room could have done with a lick of paint but overall what we paid couldn,t really complain . just a little bit too far out from the centre but i knew that when booking but the free parking was great. No sitdown restaurants nearby - all takeout but we made do. No complain at all. The kettle is the kind that has metal wire inside so when boiling water it got metal smell and taste. Yuck!. Nothing at all. It would help if the web site gave instructions, including bus numbers, on how to reach the guest house from the city centre. The beds were as hard as the floor!!!. Nothing. Good value for money. None. Because of location it is very noisy at night with traffic. Lots of stairs, but ok. Water pressure not the greatest. Watery brown sauce. Basic facilities, in need of some repair and refurbishment. Slightly old tired furnishings, basic provisions. Small, uncomfortable bed. Very small en suite. Nothing spectacular about breakfast - very average menu. Bed very hard and room quite small. Needs refurbishment and does not suit a 4 poster bed in that size of room. kettler in the room was broken, holder of toilet papper was broken, next day when we came back home, was around 20pm we found our room door was wide open, in the morning we find out that the maid forgot to close it and it was open all day for public.. ;). The location is far from the city center. The bath room is extremely small. The room is not clean, it seemed that they do not change the blanket for the guest, they only provide you a clean sheet to put on your blanket. The owner of the B&B is unfriendly, he even refused to deposit my luggage.
