We liked everything about the Windmill at Dunnington. It is easy to find just off the A64 and minutes from the city park and ride. The owners and staff were very welcoming, friendly, and efficient and the accommodation spotless and warm. There was an excellent choice of beers and wines but for us the superb quality (and quantity ! ) of the food made our 40th Wedding Anniversary celebration complete. We have already recommended the Windmill to our friends and family and will definitely stay ther. alle vurderinger »
The room was very clean and warm (it was a very cold November night). the staff made us most welcome but the best thing was the food in the pub which was of the highest standard, not just warmed up frozen food but real food cooked to order and such big helpings, you could see why the pub was full of locals enjoying a night out. We were lucky enough to get a special deal which made our stay even better value for money. Would stay here again if we were in the area. Highly recommended.
The food served in the Restaurant is second to none that is why we chose the Windmill having eaten in the restaurant several times in past years. Breakfasts are so filling. The accommodation is in close proximity to York and McCarthy Glen Outlet. An excellent Park & Ride facility to the City is within a mile. Such a good location for other places too. The good far outweighs the bad!!!!.
We liked everything about The Windmill. It was in a very pleasant location, the room was nicely decorated and was clean and comfortable. The food was delicious and the staff friendly and helpful. It was easy to get into the centre of York using the park-and-ride, which is just a short car journey away from The Windmill. We had a lovely stay and will definately return.
We stayed in this hotel some years ago and was very satisfied then and we are pleased to say that it is still very good. The food is excellent compliments to the Chef. the rooms are lovely and warm with lots of extras which you would not find in some other hotels. It is just over a mile to the Park and Ride which is a bonus for visiting York.. a Good choice of hotel.
I phoned the Windmill knowing that we would need to be in the rooms earlier than usual. To my delight they agreed to have our rooms ready for us, and allow us to leave our luggage. When we arrived the rooms were ready and available for use, all this 4 hours before "normal" . Excellant, I can highly recommend and we shall be going back again without doubt.
It was easy to find and even though situated on a very busy road we were not aware of any traffic noise, The room was compact but comfortable and the extras such as a bottle of water, teamaking facilities and snacks were very much appreciated.Lovely bathroom too with a walk in shower. The food was excellent and the portions enormous.
Restaurant quality,pub quantity food,wonderful staff and owners,nothing is too much trouble,very clean,good value,five mins from park and ride,£ 2.50 to park and get to York.We would and have already recommended this hotel to others,if you are going to York,this is the place to stay.Well done and thank you all at the Windmill.
A warm and friendly welcome. Beautifully clean. Excellent evening meal and breakfast. Nice warm room with clean bedding. Shower room was immaculate with plenty of cosmetics. Free tea and coffee and simply the best hot chocolate. An excellent stay which is definately value for money. We will be back !.
We loved how friendly the staff were,the owners were fantastic,they brought us champagne and strawberries because it was our mini moon. They also gave us a lift when we needed one.the food was amazing.we will be going back again next year.
The staff could not have been more helpful! We had a young baby with us and they were so accommodating, the cot was set up ready with lovely clean sheets. Really cannot fault the service. The breakfast was scrummy too.
Nearly everything and everybody was fantastic, location was brilliant, your on a main road but wouldnt know it, very quiet, the evening menu was brilliant and the food tasted fantastic, thumbs up all round.
The staff were excellent as were the breakfast's and evening meal, the hotel was clean and the garden was large and well kept, also it was only a short drive to the excellent park n ride.

There was nothing to dislike.
The mattress on the double bed has springs which can be felt through the mattress cover and causes discomfort (especially if you suffer a bad back). The WiFi facilities are hit and miss and definitely require updating although we understand this is in the process of being sorted.
There wasn't anything that we didn't like.
A little but far from York,but this was also a plus because it was nice and quiet.
The double bed is probably the smallest you can get and the rooms are rather dated BUT it was comfortable and we slept well.
Silly little thin, but no beans on the breskfast so it was a bit dry, like I said, silly nit picky little thing.
Air-con in the room would have been a nice extra, given that it was warm weather when we stayed, (but im not complaining about that),.

My only complaint or really observation was that we were in room 1 and
it had a disabled bathroom which was fine apart from the shelf above the
sink, as the sink was not very big the shelf was in the way when you
cleaned your teeth which meant that you had to put your head to one side
otherwise you would crack your head on the glass shelf.
