We felt very welcomed as the staff were friendly and appeared genuinely interested in us and the reasons for our stay - Laura, in particular, could not do enough for us. The view from our room was beautiful and enhanced the already comfortable ambience. The food was absolutely stunning - fillet steak will never taste as good elsewhere! The service was excellent, timely and unobtrusive. We stayed one night for a short get away. The location is beautiful, although may be a little hard to find without a sat nav. The hotel and staff are lovely and the food was outstanding, if a little pricey for the breakfast anyway. I would recommend the place to anyone looking for a weekend getaway and it would be an idyllic setting for weddings etc.

They were very aware about dietary restrictions and accommodated them, even asking upon arrival what our preferences were. The hotel was beautiful, peaceful and located right on the lake in a non-touristy area. 1st class all the way!. We received a warm welcome when we arrived and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The hotel is a beautiful building and the rooms spectacular. Great bar with views over the loch, lovely terrace (it was bright and sunny whilst we were there) and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Very peaceful location and a great part of Scotland. Beautiful old house situated in a beautiful landscape overlooking Loch Long. Evidently a nice getaway spot for Glasgow residents. Enjoyable base for walks to views of The Trossachs, and it is almost adjacent to the charming Linn Botanical Garden. Staff was welcoming and hospitable. Stunning location. Extremely attentive staff, our bedroom was really comfortable and contained 2 doubles so very spacious. We both had fillet steak for dinner and both said it's the best we ever had. The wood panelled room was ideal for after dinner drinks. Can't wait to return !. The Country House was in the most glorious, secluded setting looking out over Loch Long. Staff were very friendly (a gentleman called Fraser was on duty during our stay and he couldn't do enough for us). We had food for lunch and dinner in the restaurant which was great. The position was lovely the food was fabulous the staff were great very expensive We changed rooms as the first had no view over the loch this is not explained properly the other room was great but much more expensive. Knockderry was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfect - the surroundings, the food, luxurious room, friendly staff and we loved the two delightful sheepdogs. It far exceeded our expectations. Excellent stay at Knockderry, excellent customer service, friendly staff, well mannered polite and friendly. The location was great & the hotel looks great from outside. Initially the groundfloor rooms until you saw that the dining room had a drainpipe behind the curtains to cope wirh the leaking roof!. The bathroom and shower rooms were a little chilly but this did not take away the overall feeling of satisfaction with the beautiful surroundings. Pillows were a bit hard and high. One was too low and two was too high, so we both ended up with sore necks! Breakfast was beautiful, but £15 for a fry up is a little expensive. Nothing to dislike. They burn their rubbish, and they are also burning over part of the property near the Shore Road where the owners are planning to construct a single family residence, so smoke was drifting all over the premises making the patio unusable. Food at the restaurant was O.K. but nothing special. Gb£15 for a full breakfast (or gb£8 for a "continental breakfast") seemed exorbitant, so we breakfasted at a very nice cafe in Kilcreggan instead. Pricey for what you get. Only one small thing - I think the bed in our room could benefit from a new mattress to make it a slightly more comfortable nights sleep. Description of the rooms is misleading. Very remote. Nothing. There could have been some more simple fare on the dinner menu but other than that I could find no fault. Nothing!. Leaving. Room not as described on letsbookhotel.com - but the staff sorted this with an upgrade. Breakfast extravagantly over priced. (£12.50 for coffee and pancakes!). the small room with sloping ceilings. no view from window. The temperature was very warm and the window was only able to open a little... Very warm during the night... The awkward layout downstairs which meant my room was only accessible by walking through the often busy lounge. Information folder in room seemed out of date. under the beds were not cleaned. Customer service didn't represent 4 star hotel & it more represent weak 3 star. Our room was small & uncomfortable. Tiny weany room with brick wall view!!! Complained about room but rude aggressive owner!!! letsbookhotel.com quoted 8.50/person breakfast we paid 22.50! and were told Knockberry had notjhing to do with letsbookhotel.com!?!?!.
