We arrived around 9pm and were welcomed by David and his adorable puppy at the parking lot (free of charge, right by the entrance). Inside we were greeted by Trudy who showed us the place and gave us the keys to our rooms (1 twin room, and 1 double room). They were both very friendly and welcoming. There is a family at the entrance with a sofa and fireplace, very nice place to sit at the end of the day. The facilities were extremely convenient (like staying at a five-star hotel). The rooms we.
alle vurderinger » We arrived about 5pm and was given a very warm welcome by Trudy who showed us around and offered us a cup of tea or coffee, which was such a lovely thing to do after a long day travelling, It made us feel at home straight away. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. What can we say about the breakfast - FANTASTIC !!! There was plenty of choice and the cooked breakfast was first rate. I would definitely recommend this B & B. we arrived early (previous arrangement) and were warmly welcomed by David. Everything was as we hoped for...clean, friendly and very comfortable. Trudy chatted to us like a close friend, suggesting places of interest, and directing us how to get there. We took her word and spent a pleasant day at Lyme Regis. We look forward to a return visit and will recommend Watermead Guest House to anyone. We were very pleased that we choose the Watermead for our stopover on the way to Devon. It was very easy to park and tea was offered on our arrival. The room was a double, albeit only small and had a tea/coffee tray. The bedroom, dining room and sitting room were very clean. The breakfast was excellent. The hosts recommended places to east. Bath House very good. We found Trudy and David to be excellent hosts who put themselves out to ensure that our short stay at The Watermead was all that we required.It is a very nice little Guest House, Nice room, nice bed, nice breakfast and well managed by Trudy & David. It was a really relaxing break. Our only discomfort was the standard size double bed. We are used to a king size as we are tall people and really found the bed quite small. Having to leave to come home!. Was not really impressed with Chard itself but good location for exploring surrounding areas. Some of the eating places were closed in the evening. was not so keen on the shower being within the bedroom. Although the toilet was separate. The push down on the toilet did not work very well. Having the shower in the bedroom was a little unusual but it was fine for us. 2 small windows in top room which were very bright as the sun came up, could do with blinds or curtains. But value exceptional so a very minor point. In our room the shower was separate from the toilet facilities. Couldn't take George home. Road noise. Nothing. nothing. we liked everything.
