Lovely greeting from the owner. Food was wonderful. Dinner and breakfast were spot on. Whilst the room was lovely I would have liked some additional touches like some biscuits and herbal teas, a bin in the bedroom and the ability to turn the heating on. I realise it is summer but the towel rail did not come on which would have been nice. But overall we had a lovely stay and my points are only minor!. alle vurderinger »
The Horse Guards lived up to its high rating...The room was spacious..spotlessly clean, warm, and comfortable.
Food was good and reasonably priced and hosts were welcoming and friendly.
Lovely quiet spot with country views( and rabbits!)....A perfect spot to relax and unwind and only a few minutes from Tetbury and Malmesbury......IWe absolutely recommend the Horseguards. A+stay.
Spotless, spacious room, excellent bathroom and shower all recently refurbished so it looked brand new. Cosy bar with wood burner, excellent and inventive menu beyond the usual pub fare. Good beer choice, friendly and accommodating owners who made us and our dog (!) very welcome. Great location if you want to get away from it all. Nothing not to like.
Everything! Lovely location, room was just superb, really clean with a large comfy bed & stunning bathroom. Staff were really friendly and accommodating. Food was great with lots of choice for breakfast & reasonably priced menu. Lots of places to see & visit nearby. A fabulous place to stay - you would be mad not to.
The Blue Room that I stayed was expectionally good and comfortable. The view overseeing the country fields across was also a pleasant factor there. Overall my husband & I are highly pleased with the stay and the warmth from the host. If we were to visit that area again, Horse Guards will definitely be the first choice!.
Room was very quiet, comfortable and clean. The pub downstairs is wonderful. The owners, Arthur and Janette are very gracious hosts. The food in the pub is great too. The countryside around the Horse Guards is beautiful and very relaxing. I wish we could have stayed longer than 1 night.
This is the second time I have stayed at The Horse Guards and each time has been just perfect. The owners cannot do enough to make sure you are comfortable, the welcome is warm, the food excellent and the accommodation first class! I shall be back!.
The owners were lovely and very accommodating, we had choice of breakfast time and they let us drop our bag off a long time before check in as we had a wedding to go to. Room was very nice, bed comfy and shower amazing.
Location was really convenient for us. Had a large group lunch and were really looked after well, even allowed to take a dog in with us. Rooms were very nice, well decorated and spacious and delicious breakfast.
Rooms exceeded our expectations. They were nicely appointed, clean and very comfortable. Lots of space with en suite modern bathroom. Food in pub was excellent. Owners were gracious and friendly hosts.

Welcoming, friendly, clean, fitted out to a high standard. Lovely big shower and bathroom. Good views. Restaurant offered good choice of meals using local produce. Wide choice for breakfast, too.

Lovely spacious accommodation with modern facilities . Vegetarian meals served in the pub were good. Breakfast selection more limited for vegetarians .

Toiiet seat that was 'semi automated' Why bother?
Needed easy chair in room
No waste bin in the bedroom
Fire exit could be tricky with external lockable door to the 2 bedrooms. i.e. I go out early in the morning for a walk leave outside door unlocked but other room locks it. Solution provide 2 external keys.
Instructions for shower and vent axia could have signs placed on them. Shower could be dangerous as it was red hot if not careful.
No pictures on the walls in the room. Possibly, as there are only two rooms, one could offer a twin bedded room instead both having double beds.
