the log fires and the food. The food was excellent. Lovely friendly pub/restaurant/hotel. Very good atmosphere in pub with open fire and excellent sellection of wines. Good views for bedroom window of the Dales. Food also very popular with the locals so restaurant and bar quiet busy on the Saturday night we were there. We will definitely be returning again pos for a longer stay.peace and quiet great location staff very friendly food good. The Barbon Inn was a friendly establishment. Whilst I was unable to eat in the restuarant during the evening the food smelt lovely.Freshly cooked-to-order food. The food. Very welcoming and good food; good location for walking. Friendliness of the staff.Food was excellent. Lovely location in nice village.Good walks close by.Friendly and proffesional owners/staff.Cosy inn and room.Very good breakfast.Restaurant food good[though not sure about the 'fusion' element of the menu.} Fairly good wine list.Overall a very enjoyable stay. The Local People and Staff attitude. pleasant atmosphere, good food. location, food was excellent. Beautiful place, good food.Food and Location were good. The location, room was very nice, and the food was good. The food - enjoyable dinner; location. The country side and easy access to the surrounding areas. Good Food. When we stayed the a la carte menu had very few meat options although there was plenty of fish on offer and the quality was good. Only observation was the heated towel rail was not on in room 3 so bathroom a bit cold in the morning. Not a real problem and forgot to mention it when we left. The bed was too councy. Bedroom a bit noisy as it was above the bar but thankfully it closed on time. Unfortunately there was a power cut during my stay due to remedial work being carried out which limited the choice of menu and meant a very dark candlelight dinner for one. However the staff coped admirably.A little backgound noise [chatter] from the bar below but all quiet by 11-10pm.Bedrooms may be on the small side for some tastes. No shower curtain over the bath, only one chair in the room. Not for disabled people even in slight cases.room slightly on the small size because of age of building. umm, can we have an up to date television, ie one with a remote control. Heating was not working in our room. The door to the toilet was half panel wood and frosted glass which was a little off putting when using the ensuite. A bit more attention to detail would have made it a better stay,eg the last occupent had one biscuit out of the pack but it was not replaced so we a little disappointed.poor very small bathroom facilities did not warrant 3 star status; wine list expensive; standard double bed too narrow - expect 5 foot beds these days in 'standard' rooms. The hotel smelt of cooking all the time especially deep fat fried food, even first thing in the morning. Did not Think we got a Superior Room. Hotel was locked up when we arrived.Notice in doorway saying;checkin time up until 3pm then after 6pm.Not a good start!.
