A 15-minute walk from Amesbury town centre and a 3-minute drive to Stonehenge, Mandalay was built in 1930 and offers free Wi-Fi and homely bedrooms with en suite facilities. Everything! Staying at the Mandalay was wonderful. Nick and Angie are most gracious hosts and work hard to see that their guests have a good stay. Our room was extremely clean and well appointed with a very comfortable bed. The breakfasts were all delicious and served in a lovely room with a view of their beautiful gardens. With only a very short and pleasant walk into Amesbury, the location is excellent for local sightseeing or touring south central England. All that plus free wi-fi and good p.
alle vurderinger » The guest house is ideally situated to visit the many natural history sites around the Stonehenge/Avebury areas, which is what we did. It is owned and run by a very friendly couple who go out of their way to make your visit as pleasurable as possible. The Mandalay is very tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean and the Full English Breakfast is worth its weight in gold! Definitely a hidden gem in the countryside and we will return!. This was honestly the best guest house we have ever stayed in. It was so clean and child friendly. The room was lovely and the bathroom was exactly what we needed with young children. The whole place was spotless and breakfast was gorgeous. Could not say enough to emphasis how fantastic the guest house is. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. We had a lovely view of the garden from our room. It was a very relaxed atmosphere. The owners were perfectly pleasant without being intrusive and nothing appeared to be too much trouble at all. The room was nicely decorated, and had a view of the beautiful garden. The breakfast was great and again, nothing was too much trouble. We were impressed with the friendly and relaxed attitude of the owner. The weather was nice and the owner set a table for us in the beautiful garden where we had our lunch that we bought in town. The second day we picked up our daughter and son-in-law from Heathrow who flew in from Australia. The owner had 4 chilled champagne glasses for us waiting on our return. Just nice. Great breakfasts, lovely atmosphere. What a beautiful place to stay. It has such charm and ambience. After being in London and Brighton for a week, this was the perfect place for relaxation. Though I needed to wake at 4am to be at Stonehenge by 5am, this was actually the first night where I slept sound. I look forward to coming back with my friends and Family! Also it was my favorite Breakfast!. we had a twin room which is small but very comfortable and clean . The garden is beautifully arranged……I sat there for over an hour just admiring it. every thing is very alright and breakfast is very good. the fact is I can not expect more for what I paid! I would recommend this B&B and certainly will come again if I come back to visit in this area. It was a lovely room, pretty and spotlessly clean. Just a short walk from town and a short drive from stonehenge. The staff were nice, friendly and helpful. Good value for money. The rooms are named after classic authors and there was a book by that author in the draw that was a nice touch. I loved my one night stay. Both proprietors were so helpdful and pleasant. If I were to offer any suggestions it would be to say that sometimes the noise from the room downstairs can filter up into the bedroom and be a little distracting. Other than that, nothing to complain about. Apart from warm bedcovers all was perfect. There wasn't a proper shower in the room, it was a bath with a shower hose thing. nothing. I didn't like the pillows in the room. Nothing!. Nothing. Cannot fault the Mandalay. On entering car park at the hotel the facade did not do the inside and rear of the building any justice at all. Once inside this was forgotten!. Being used to living in a very rural location, we noticed traffic noise in daylight hours, as the traffic tends to be fast past the B&B. However, it was quiet during the night. Room was quite small. The room, although advertised as a "small" twin, was actually very adequate for our needs but the bathroom (actually shower room) was extremely small. late booking in times. Nothing. Nothing. I have nothing negative yo say about The Mandalay. Can't think of any negatives. Nothing. The only complaint is that there was no shower and although we were happy to have a bath, the shower hose would not work. Prospective customers should be made aware of this. A single towel rail for 4 towels and 2 facewashers is simply inadequate. And it is easily remedied. Nothing. Nothing. no bath in our room as the only room left was a very small double. Not great water pressure. nothing!. Slightly isolated from town. none. our stay at Mandalay was too short.
