I have stayed in 6 hotels in Sir lanka and this is the best one. Everything in this hotel is unique and traditional. Tea smell is all over the place. Staying at the Tea Factory is more than spending a night somewhere. It is an unforgettable experience at a magnificent place transporting you a century back in time with all luxury. The rooms are very traditional with beautiful views over the tea plantations. We had dinner at the train carriage which was an experience on its own (a six course dinner of high quality under 30euros!).
It's a bit pricey, specially for the country's standard but worth the experience.

This is indeed a grand old hotel. It is a wonderful piece of history that has to be experienced. It is a bit pricy but worth it. There is not a lot going on in Nuwara Eliya, but we agreed that we could spend a week just enjoying the hotel with a pile of books!Some rooms in the same3 price range are much nicer than others, so take your time and look a bit before you settle in.
