The staff were so friendly, particularly Anna. We didn't realise it was more of a backpackers' hostel than a hotel, but as it was only two nights, it didn't matter. Anna was very helpful and the hostel's location could not be bettered. - good room, friendly staff, localization.

Good enough for the prices. kitchen is ok (very clean and have everything you need). The breakfast is quite simple but still nice. Super friendly staff and it's a good place for making new friends (: . And finally, its position inside the city is very central, so you don't need to use metro every time you go out. The location of Hostal Gala is excellent, a 5 minute walk from Gran Via and Puerto Del Sol. The staff are super welcoming and friendly, always ready to help and advise on where to go and what to do. The hostal is also kept very clean and the cleaning staff are very friendly and helpful as well. Although the rooms do not have safe deposit boxes, security and leaving passports/money behind was never a cause for concern. This is a place I would recommend and stay at again!

The location is fantastic, you can walk outside, cross a small road and walk into a market! The metro is 5/10 minutes walk away and there is loads of places to eat. The staff are lovely, carried my bags for me and couldnt help you enough. The price is great for what you get! this was my 3rd stay in this hostel and I spoke to others staying in other hostels paying more and they wernt anywhere near as good!

I've stayed at many hostels all around Spain by now, about 4 of them in Madrid alone, and this was by far one of THE best service we've ever had. Super clean. The price for the location is unbeatable. The Wifi was great. Outstanding service by attendant who assisted us. At one point I forgot my cell phone on the couch in the little lobby and he picked it up and left in our room with a note. How he knew it was ours, no idea. (Maybe process of elimination.) But so glad he did! Will definitely go

This place is truly Home away from Home. The lady who runs the place is so nice, very friendly and keeps the place immaculate. The rooms with shower are nice and spacious with moder decor and the single room without shower where I was staying is very comfortable with fridge and microwave.
