I rarely give top marks on the grounds there should always be room for some improvement but I'm struggling to find any fault with the Catalonia Atocha. Within half an hour of booking I received a "welcome" email from the hotel with detailed and useful information on how to find the hotel whatever the mode of transport, I’ve never had this before from an hotel, it boded well and I was not disappointed.
Without exception the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful, and equally happy to speak

We really enjoyed our stay and everything was beyond expectation. Perfect position for seeing everything Madrid has to offer. The staff were super nice. Breakfast was till 11am (super late compared to other places) and was simple but fresh and delicious. The room was more than we had hoped for. We asked for a room with a balcony and thats exactly what we got. Great location and just a really nice place to come to at the end of a long day sightseeing.
