  My wife and I stayed at Pensio Torrent for three nights. The Pensio is run by a mother and son and is exceptionally clean if basic. It is a terrific value for under $40 per night. We stayed in Room 203 on the top floor, with a small balcony overlooking the street. The nights were quiet and peaceful, with any noise (if there in fact was any) sealed... hva folk sier » off by the well-fitting double doors. The "action", such as it is, in L'Escala is just a couple of blocks away, as is the beach, but for us the real - We were met by a lovely lady after a long bus journey and were able to check-in already at 10am. Throughout our stay she was very helpful with everything altho our Spanish/Catalan is very basic! Our bedroom was lovely, had a small balcony with a view over the street and church. Waking up to a sound of church bells and cockerel was nice too. Highly recommend!
